RMDP is not smog legal. Why can't you smog with your GReddy kit? It's CARB Legal. I have a stock GReddy downpipe for sale as well. I'm in SF, CA

Most smog guys aren't savvy enough to notice you're not using a stocker dp.

i dont have the greddy filter ... im using a HKS one and the cop signed me for it ...

turbored 09-29-2006 05:30 PM

if you want to PM me, i think i can point you to a good smog shop, but it's in SF.

dude....I just got the same ticket a few months ago....what is the ticket code. cause all I had to do is pay my fine...no referee no smog inspection......suck thing is the cop was telling me otherwise...but when I went to the courthouse to pay the ticket the court chic was like "oh you don't need any proof of repairs....its just a standard payable ticket"...I wanted to kiss then punch her in the face :).......granted its my fault for not researching...but you try and navagaite LA county websites and find anything but non-specific info on there.....so go to the courthouse and find out first...cause it will save time, money, and streess :bigtu:

California sounds "far-out!" :bigtu:

damn, I couldn't imagine dealing with all that bullshit out there...I just pay my 9 bucks and change and nobody even looks at my car ;D

=(

does any1 have a greddy filter that i can borrow or buy from ?!

please help

ahwest 10-02-2006 03:44 PM

oh and the citation code is 27156(b)cvc

Braineack 10-02-2006 03:52 PM

aren't most HKS filters CARB exempt? what part number is it? Any prefix of "1504" is CARB exempt, maybe you should contact HKS and just get a sticker?

ahwest 10-02-2006 04:04 PM

this is what i found on hksusa.com but does that mean its CARB exempt in CA ?

HKS Super Mega Flow air intake systems produce smoother and more even airflow with increased velocity for optimal air/fuel atomization, which result in increased throttle response, horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency. CARB Executive Order # D-186-19

Braineack 10-02-2006 04:11 PM

that's exactly what it means. But since I live in VA I'd ask a local ref.

ahwest 10-02-2006 04:41 PM

thanks a lot braineack!!! i called up HKS and asked about the sticker .. they told me to go to arb.ca.gov to print out the pdf form and it should be good to go. hopefully the state referee will accpet the print out.

ahwest 10-02-2006 04:57 PM

one more concern is that the bipes... will the state ref bitch about the bipes unit ?

BrokeEnthusiast 10-02-2006 05:28 PM

man you guys have it tough in CA

Braineack 10-02-2006 07:32 PM

he'll never see the bipes, but yes you aren't allow to change your timing, so it would throw a red flag, but I doubt anyone would notice it, unless they look for it.

If you dont want to risk it, pull out the unit and reconnect the CAS wire together then your go to go. Just make sure your back at 10* timing.

If the docs you print out don't work, i have an unused greddy filter sitting in my garage you can have

I'm in Sunnyvale

If that is the right code, You got a ticket for the wrong kind of fuel cap!:gay: 27156 cvc deals with emission stuff but, 27156(b) talks about fuel caps and the affect they have on emissions.

You can go to the D.M.V. and ask for the C.V.C and look it up. If that is what you are charged with it will not stick. dont pay:eek:
