New Downpipe fitted.

Well, I was sick of the weedy Greddy downpipe, and my stock downpipe/midsection which was attatched to it was rusty as hell with heat shielding rattling and falling off all over the place....
So I just fitted a Greddy compatible downpipe from XS-Speed/ MX5Mad here in the UK. Attachment 214954 http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...6/SP_A0180.jpg It went on easy enough, and the car now seems quieter and "smoother" too. I'm happy... :bigtu: The Jackson Racing cat-back seems reasonable with the turbo, just the straight through cat-repolacement pipe that might be restricting things a little still, but I'll sort that out soon. |
That greddy downpipe has a stupid design. Is it just me or is that like a pocket for the wastegate flap? Because that is just a really restrictive approach vs the bell mouth on the new one.

No wonder people see huge gains upgrading from the Greddy DP. |

I don't know about it giving a any power gains, but it's sure quieter & kinda feels smoother too. Heh, I reckon within a year all I'll have left of the Greddy kit will be the TD04 turbo itself:eek: maybe I shoulda saved some more & got a FM kit or something, but it's "fun" upgrading stuff & I learn about it along the way:bigtu: |
