The BEGi S4 How Do I Check My Oil Thread

You've got the same problem I have with your broken off dipstick handle. I drilled a small hole and ran a loop of wire through it. Much easier to get out. Originally tried a little zip tie but it just melted against the heat shield (duh).
The heat shields are pretty sexy. I've screwed mine up though with cheezy ghetto mods. Mine was a little too close to the brake lines and could rattle. Bent the back edge up slightly with a cresent wrench. Left some nice marks in it. Also bent up the leading edge of the cool air box quite a bit to give my headlight cover Naca duct a more direct shot into the box. Also I lined the inside of the cool air box with heat shield fabric. Dropped temps slightly and dropped the intake noise quite a bit.
I also have the same problem with having a strut brace. Haven't figured out how to get that sexy (albiet tiny) windshield washer reserve box in yet. It's too cool looking not to fit it in somehow though.
Seeing your's reminds me how pretty my parts used to be. Jeez I'm a slob. Should have taken better care with my slight mods.

I put my dipstick in my lathe (it has a through-hole chuck) and turned the remaining bit of plastic to get a nice round surface, then I threaded it with a die. I then made a new handle on the lathe and threaded it to fit onto the dip stick. I then JB welded it on to completely secure it (I probably could have foregone threading it, since I used JB weld, but it's perminant now). You could do the same to make an extended handle.
