oil and smoke...

definitely just took a coworker out for a good flogging run in the car, and wheni parked it, it smelled like oil in the engine bay, and there was some pretty good blue/white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. not sure if it was blue or white (oil or coolant) but it smelled more like oil and/or normal exhaust, not sweet smelling like i remember coolant to be.

think i saw a couple dots of oil splatter on the turbo manifold, too...

unfortunately i wasn't datalogging, so i can't assure myself that i didn't lean spike and smoke something, i'm thinking i may have flogged on it before it was warmed up enough, and maybe put some not-all-that-flowing oil pressure through the turbo and suffered some blown seal action? dunno if that would account for an oil splatter on the manifold, though...

check your pcv.

yeah, that's first on the list.

what am i looking for when i pull it? or will it be one of those "if it's junk you'll DEF know" things? :-)

I think you should be able to blow on one side, but not the other.

gotcha. i might just grab a new one at autozone on my way home and replace it.

i'm just worried i blew rings or something. i'm a wuss.

Make sure the one you buy from autozone actually does what it's supposed to. I went through 3 of them made for the 323 gtx and none of them actually sealed completely, the stock one sealed better. I'd suggest you go to a dealer and purchase an OEM one for a 323 GTX.
