Hi All - about a year ago I bought the following kit on a whim. It's been sitting in my garage, and I'm going to be selling it on to someone else without ever installing it (I know). But i've gotten some questions about it that I can't answer - can someone educate me?

1. What kind of Garret turbo is this? i.e. "GT2860R" or "T28"
2. Is this older Link piggy back ECU usable on non VVT 1.8 Miatas? NB1? NA? or would a completely different engine management solution be needed?
3. Is the intake manifold with the extra injectors necessary - i.e. could someone just put in bigger injectors in the stock location?
4. What else is needed to complete the kit? i'm assuming tap/bung for oil drain and wideband O2 sensor, but not sure about anything else.

As you can see - my interested buyers are about as informed as I am - it's the blind leading the blind

Info I have:
- Garrett turbo - A/R60 M24 1-2
- FM turbo manifold, and full exhaust (downpipe, midpipe with cat), muffler
- FM intercooler with piping, hoses, and silicone links
- Replacement intake manifold with provisions for four extra injectors on separate rail (the early FM kits used the auxiliary injectors instead of replacing the stock injectors)
- Link piggyback engine management (so it passes emissions).
- two gauge A-pillar pod with Oil pressure and Boost gauges
- all the piping, hoses (oil/water, etc.)
- heat shields, intake filter, and relocated washer bottle
- nuts, bolts, etc. It was taken off with care.

From the research I did, this was a fully upgraded kit - inconel studs (from what I can tell), better hoses with heat shielding, etc. It came from a car tuned by Shawn at Church Tuning, and apparently made 220hp and 195tq. ECU is set up for NB1 cars.

4) that looks like about it, though i don't know that anyone would want to complete that kit as it came in the year 2018. :P

1) The turbo is probably a 2560. The metal tag attached to the CHRA should specify the model on it, but I can't read it in the photo.

2) The Link piggyback ECU is not a standalone. All it does is monitor RPM and manifold pressure and enable adding fuel through the auxiliary injectors, retarding timing by intercepting the cam/crank signals going to the stock ECU, and drive (poorly) a boost control solenoid for EBC. In principle it can work with any Miata, although you might need to swap out some pieces of hardware. In practice, I wouldn't recommend using the Link piggyback ECU today on any car because there are much better engine management options available.

3) The intake manifold is necessary if you want to use the piggyback, because it adds fuel when in boost. Bigger injectors in the stock location would work better if the piggyback were swapped out for a Megasquirt or other full ECU.

4) In addition to the oil drain fittings, I don't see the tee that allows you to connect the turbo oil feel to the stock oil pressure sender port.

One warning I have for you is that the mounting tabs on the auxiliary fuel rail are known to be somewhat weak, they tend to break with use. As you might imagine this can be pretty hazardous, because if it comes off then it will hose down the intake side of the engine with gasoline.

Looks like a pretty complete gt2560r kit circa 10+ years ago.

more buyers will probably opt to use all the hard parts, and get their own megasquirt and bigger injectors.
so most of the value is in all the hard parts, and almost none in the link stuff.

you can also try selling the link ecu stuff on miata.net, plenty of owners there with older setups, who might want to pick up a replacement link system.

Not sure if this applies here or not since you didn't list location and I know nothing about turbo kits, but there was a CARB legal version somewhere for 99-00. If you have that - the value may be higher than non CARB kit.

The old CARB EO 99 kit from the early 2000s is only valid on 1999 cars. That's similar, but technically the EO only applied to the BEGI-based kit, and since that one includes a Flyin' Miata manifold it's from after the FM/BEGI split and would thus not be covered. Even were it a BEGI manifold, it would also only apply to a Federal (49-state) car that had been brought into CA, because it doesn't have the special manifold and downpipe needed to accomodate the CA emissions pre-cat.
