Default Begi-S inspection results

Well, my state inspection is up this month....and it's my first time since the turbo install.

In NJ, the safety/emissions examination is done at state run facilities located throughout the state.

Today i headed to my local inspection station and waited about a half hour in line. when it was finally my turn, i was directed to get out of my line and enter a different bay-door. i believe that they did this because they were suspicious of my car.......maybe they thought is was "rice-tastic"? granted the whole process normally takes about 5 minutes, but for some reason the guy was going over my car with a fine tooth comb for about 15 minutes. it seemed like he "wanted" to fail it, and was looking for a good excuse.

result:
good news and bad news.
good news: passed emmisions (barely, Nox was a little high) intercooling it should help knock it down.
bad news: the bastard failed it for my small mirrors. though i don't mind too much, as i want to go back to the oe mirror for better visibility.

There is a law in NJ that states minimum mirror size? How many sq. inches did you fail by?

i asked the guy who performed the emissions inspection what the mirror regulation is.......he didn't have an answer for me. it was a different guy that failed me for the mirror during the safety part of the inspection, basically stating "diminished visibility" or some B.S.. without "googling" the information, i'm gonna guess that it's just a judgment call. like i said, it doesn't bother me much as i'd rather have an oe size mirror.

i don't want to play "the victim", but it sure seemed like they were going to make me fail, regardless of if they could find a good reason or not.

Send me pics of your mirrors. I am interested if you want to sell them.

Default "diminished visibility"

So does that mean you fail if your top is up? Just put the drivers side mirror on for the test pass and swap it back. The drivers side mirror is the only required.

Is the inpection guidlines listed anywhere, all I can find is crap like this link.

I passed in NJ with those mirrors. I have the larger mirrors though. I know some guys have the tiny ones that you can't see out of. It's all on who inspects it and what station you go to. When I past in lawrenceville the guy was complimenting the car thinking it was a porsche. But when I had my NA and went to the Freehold station they failed me for 4 different things.

Im glad I live in the **** state of Alabama. No testing, and cops dont give a ****. I have yet to be pulled over, though none of my cars have really been the eye catching kind. Good to hear the engine/turbo side of it passed though.

What a ****** DICK. Those mirrors had to be like the size of a camera memory card for them to fail. Regulations like that don't make sense to me. I live in Pennsylvania. You have to wear a seat belt in a car, and they actually have seat belt checks. Although, if you are a badassed biker, than you don't need to wear a helmet.
Hey, at least you passed emmisions!
