parts shop max fmic setup
ok here is my new kit installed after a full 9 hour day of the shop working. the owner of the shop dan would be interested in selling this kit as a whole exactly as you see it plus or minus small changes as the purchaser sees fit. it would only run roughly 390 for the whole kit. lemme know what you guys think of my setup also if your interested then i will setup a group buy thing.
heres some pictures dan took i will be taking more tommorrow or after i get my turbo rebuilt and its all back up and running. http://www.gtfactory.jp/cms/e107_plu...topic.php?1572 |
looks nice. Huge intercooler! Watch out for overheating with that radiator inlet kinked like that though
so you have to cut a hole in the driver side? dunno how many people would be willing to do that. plus they'd probably wanna see how it worked with a stock front bumper. (although show the pic with all the zip ties to philip, he'll love it)
problem is stripe's kit works without cutting up your car, we know it works with the stock bumper, and it's the same price. good luck selling any kits though. |
I think the cut's a good idea myself, looks like it simplifies things as far as pipe routing goes. Maybe I won't clock my compressor after all.
I'd rather stuff my air filter in that area.
yeah my airfilter sits there as well. Also abit of advice, cut the radiator hose of at the radiator end to unkink that shit or that overheat maker will kill the motor in short order. ;) still looks ok for a whole bunch of pipes and heat collector.
He needs a MAP based EMS so he can put a huge filter on the turbo itself without the AFM.
can you take some more pics of your car. i admittedly kind of like the gv/wizdom front bumper.
won't work with a/c. no chance.

Its not bad... kind of sucks that the filter is in that location. You end up not really able to duct air to it at that location, and its getting the left over air from the radiator and I/C.
mmmm, blasts of heated air!
i plan on moving it behind the headlight soon.
that's about where my filter is and intake temps are OK. only get hot temps when idling in stop n go.
I dont know how your gonna fit it behind the headlight lid there. Seems a bit cramped.. mine barely fits and i dont have the piping there
looks great just need to fix it a little also does this kit takes out your A/C and power steering??
it keeps power steering but you do need to remove the ac for it to install
I see several issues.
-Why would I cut my car when there are several other options for routing pipes down to the IC? -Your IC to TB pipes will only work with a stock radiator. Anything larger and you are shafted. -IC is way too big for anything but filling the mouth of that bumper. I have a 27" core, and I should have done a 20" core. -No t-bolt clamps. If I bought an intercooler pipe kit, I would expect t-bolt clamps. |
ok im pretty certain i could make that an issue and they would do the t bolts no gaurantee but pretty certain also how is the pipes from the intercooler no good for a larger radiator?
also the only reason i would see anyone buying this kit is efficiency less piping better response and for the price you cant beet it. heres a comparison
stripes pipe kit with rolled ends 290 intercooler 110 couplers 50 tbolt clamps 20 mounting hardware to mount intercooler 20 total 490 plus shipping on certain items. this kit everything needed 390 plus shipping |
