pinched oil feed, help?

So lesson learned: always ensure your oil feed line won't get caught between the downpipe and that sharp shelf running along the sides of the bay..

I know the archives touch on this, but some of the links are broken. I would like to put together a nice replacement feed line but not sure where to start. I'm thinking something with AN fittings, something classy. Maybe a little longer than the stock line, for routing purposes.

TIA for any advice/hand holding.

That sux. I built mine from McMaster Carr parts. They had everything I needed, but I can't find the actual order list. It was way back.

You need the block fitting, the feedline and the turbo fitting. All that info is in the FAQ though.

Would it be better to make a hard line?

Savington 01-11-2008 02:30 PM

www.paragonperformance.com
www.anplumbing.com
www.summitracing.com

I used those 3 to build my -3AN feed line. M10 at the block, 90 towards the front of the motor, 24" -3AN line, 90 to the turbo, then a -3AN to 7/16-24.

anplumbing has everything you need for your feed setup. I ordered a 1.6 setup for a friend, it was like $45 after the $9 shipping. Including everything.

No it would not be better to make a hardline.

Thanks all, I'm going to order when I get home. :) Gonna try your route sav. Did you feel 2' was enough length?

Yep, yep it does. I'm really not having too good of luck with the whole car thing lately. I don't think I told anyone here the full story about how I fubared my friction disc when I had the engine out.

Will it be the same for my Greddy?

Also, what sort of things are people using for a restrictor?

bryantaylor 01-12-2008 06:34 PM

3an line, with a banjo at each end, and a banjo bolt going into the block has worked fine for me.

ahh, didn't catch that. What size banjos then, if I were to go that route?

i used 10mm. just used the one the came with the turbo, and the correct pitch for the one going into the block. summitracing has all of it.

kotomile 01-13-2008 10:42 PM

cool, I actually just noticed that the route in the archives is all banjo based, and made my order. Cheers!
