Playing with the greddy kit.
 

I've decided to tweak the Greddy a little, I've already got a FMIC, now installing the 440's, a Emerald ECU, boost control solenoid and a LC1. Anything else I should be looking into really? The car is booked in for a track day next weekend so hoping it will be finished, if not will be taking the TVR but that's just had a fresh engine so prefer to run the MX5 if possible.

Your very FIRST order of business is to upgrade your shitty manifold. That GReddy manifold sucks hairy vagina. Seriously. I went through three of them before I finally smartened up and got one from ETD... only to cut it up and make it different.

Other than that... MOAR BOOST!!!!!!!!!

Well manifold will probably get replaced once it breaks :P

I will be modifying the fuel rail, then I guess more boost will be the order of the day :D

I think the manifold failures are the result of multiple variables beyond just the expansion/contraction of the casting.

I have about 12k on my manifold with slots cut between runners and the manifold has maybe moved .01-.015" at most. When I pulled it last month it popped off without issue, no shrink around the studs.

The manifold is actually pretty good. If yours is fine, don't mess with it. Have you upgraded your down pipe? The stock greddy one is fairly restrictive, along with the rest of the exhaust. Just heat shield the crap out of everything, and hopefully you'll survive at the track. Generally your first time out you're too slow to stress your car too much. I was fine on stock 1.6 brakes the first time out. That won't last.

I do need to try and get the 1.8 brakes fitted before I go actually, its more a sprint against a clock so brakes will be ok, the last track day I cooked them pretty quickly though.

Last year I did the same event, was 4th fastest against some pretty nice cars, this year mate is taking a Ferrari 355 and i really hope to beat his times :D

I would look into replacing the differential with a 1.8 setup (assuming your car is a early 1.6).

Oh also I would put the relief cuts in your greddy manifold. I did that for a friends greddy kit and it worked flawlessly for 2 years when he sold it.
