Please look at my cat and downpipe

Just got my 3" exhaust from from Begi. My downpipe has a 2.75" flange, and the cat pipe has a 3" flange. The bolts provided with the exhaust won't fit through the holes in the downpipe flange because the holes are too small, and the holes on the flanges have minimal overlap. Anywho, I'm new to this so if you could look at the pics and tell me if I can make it work or if I'm going to have to have something changed because it doesn't seem like it's going to work to me.

Looks like you could ust slot the downpipe holes... call begi.

I would slot the holes in the DP enough so you can get some bolts in.

I agree, you have the room on the DP flange to do it. Just sucks though.....how'd that happen?

That's a good question. How did this happen about twice before with my kit as well? As you can tell I'm a little annoyed.:bang: I'm glad it seems that I won't have to delay things anymore though....

I had the same problem but OPPOSITE...
I'm under the impression that its assumed (not saying it should be) that if u order 3" exhaust you have the optional 3" DP exit...

I had the 3" dp exit, which wouldnt line up w/ stock cat flange...I was only planning to rocking it temporarily, so I didnt care much. Soon after I had a 3" exhaust made (custom) and everything fit fine...

If that cat that you have was designed to be used with the stock manifold you should be fine, otherwise they may have sent you an NB downpipe. Wait until you bolt it into the car, dont slot the holes now because it may not even fit. I had the same problem.

dremel the holes wider and throw a bolt in it and stop complaining. Dont forget to use a gasket.

I wouldn't be complaining if it wasn't the third time some shit like this has happened with them. Originally I ordered the regular downpipe with the 3" exhaust. Stephanie then conctacted me and said I either needed to change the downpipe to 3" or the cat inlet to 2.75" I chose to go with the 3" DP. They still sent me the original 2.75" downpipe. I was going to send it back but Corky called me and said it's better to stay with the 2.75" outlet and that to put a 3" outlet on the DP would require indenting the DP to allow for the bolts to go through the flange negating the gains:hustler: Seemed kind of odd that they would offer the 3" initially but then not recommend it anymore when I would have to be sending it back to them to be fixed....Anyway, I was assured that the exhaust would then be changed so that the flanges would match. Didn't happen:crx:

Are we starting to see a trend here?

I paid a lot of money for a egr blockoff plate from begi that didn't fit at all either. I had to grind it down to make it fit. I should have just made my own...:jerkit:
