What's the latest news on DP's for the Greddy
Hey guys,
I haven't been on here in a while, but I recall that Begi had a DP for the Greddy in the works. Is it available yet? What are the other options for right now? Is the Tony DP still being made?
Thanks again

I heard that stainless is not the way to go for DP or exhausts as it cracks at the welds over time (the welds are harder than the welded stainless around them etc). Look at any high performance motorbike and they don't use stainless at all on the downpipes all the way back to the can.
I could be wrong....but I just got it confirmed by a welder with 30 years on the job.
Bloody high price BTW. I'm getting my DP for cost (aka **** ALL) and will gradually increase the size of the pipe back to the box. Also, a CAT is NOT required where I am for a 1991 !!!

Honestly. If a well respected tuning company wanted me to test a product for them, I'd have it installed within a few days of receiving it, and would have feedback for them within a week. How long does it take to say "I installed it and it fit, I drove around for a week and it's working great"?

Yeah, its a shame, I was really hoping to pick up a DP from Begi to have for the install, now I am installing the Greddy with the crappy stock DP just to get it running.
Stephanie let me know maybe I can test fit the next DP for you...
Thanks

really all begi ought to need is anothe manifold - they have my manifold and turbo, and could just test fit with that on any old car in the shop. Only reason I can see to send a DP to someone else to test is to make sure nothing is weird with my particular manifold. So, anyone have a greddy manny they can send begi if this guy doesn't get back to them?

Fergus: I disagree with your welder and your suggestion that stainless is not the best choice.
Not that it is worth much, but I've been welding substatially longer than 30, but the answer lies in the style of the joint and the high temp strength of the basic material.
Style, for example, one does not weld 360 degrees around the outside of a flange/tube joint. But, one does so on the inside.

was corky able to get in touch with him over the last two weeks? I had to take my car offline to install clutch and diff and I would really like to install my turbo at the same time, even if it means using this rusty rm dp I have. I'm sorry miataturbo guys, I can't wait forever to get my stuff back.
