Quick pics of my Greddy setup

Hello All,

I've been horribly delinquent in providing y'all with updates, mainly due to a nutty work schedule. Since I had the hood off the other day doing some maintenance (new hoses, acessory belts, t-stat, timing belt, valve cover, etc) and cleaning up, I decided to take a few pics to share. Much more to come, I'm hoping to finally get some dyno numbers and take it to the local track.

Also, I know the awful orange couplers need to go :)

Nice, very clean! Looks like some carefully chosen mods to the basic kit, too. What's that on the firewall above the washer reservoir? Maybe a MAP for a piggy?

That's exactly what it is, a gm 3bar map sensor for the s-afc.

Looks clean as fuck man, nice job. I like your IC pipes, hotside esp.

shit's clean, son.

Nice.

The only thing that turns me off a little is how big that blanket is. Do they make smaller ones because i was gonna get a blanket instead of the shield. Otherwise this looks Ummm phenomenal.

Very nice. I love the intake pipe and the routing of the compressor outlet. Extra, super clean.

And the blanket really does it for me. Wish I had something like that, vs. my big ole' heatshield.

i want the turbo blanket, where, tell me!

underdog 05-28-2008 06:33 AM

Thanks as always guys, I appreciate it. I've never owned a yellow car before and let me tell ya, they show every speck of dirt under the hood, so I have my work cut out for me.

The piping has worked out well, substituting a slim aftermarket fan for the stock radiator fan really frees up lots of room for the hotside piping.

As for the turbo blanket, I bought it after reading about them in this thread in the group buy/member discount forum. It is a little large looking, but it does fit very snug all the way around and makes a noticeable difference in underhood temps. I would recommend one if your budget allows. I tried to mock up some cardboard heat shields, but wasn't liking my options, so this seemed like a good alternative.

Thanks again guys! The car is running great, I love the ACT clutch setup and highly recommend it. These cars are also perfect for the gas prices lately. I'm getting 32-24 mpg!

Normally I hate yellow miatas, but I that engine bay really looks great. Good job.

Very clean! Nice looking setup man! :)

What size fan is that? I'm trying to route my intercooler pipes around the AC and PS, and that looks like you've got the ticket right there.

Thanks again everyone!

As for the fan info, The fan I purchased was a Summit Racing brand universal. (SUM-G4902) I was leaning toward a "be-cool" or similar name brand, but they were either too small or too large for the Miata. This one fits perfectly and works great. Page 2 of my build w/fan pic and info

So are you done with your set up already or are you planning on doing more. Suspension or new wheels and tires?

I do plan to do more, but nothing too agressive. I want to keep the comfort level of the car but improve handling. The stock wheels and tires are looking pretty lame, so that will probably be next on the list. Before that though, it'll be strapped to a dyno and taken to a track very soon. Thanks for asking!

Yes track is a must! I want to see what this thing can do.
