maybe hes an awesome fabricator?

if i knew how to weld really really well i may have been interested.

other than that negatory ghost rider.

i had that kit the funny thing is it actually is 3" lol, get it if you like to fix things for fitment, i had to widen the manifold holes weren't even lined up...its shitty fitment, but i sort of regret it now cause i would have had a turbo for free!!! Cause i did get the kit for free some how ;) they fucked up my order and sent my money back and the same week the kit came aha. But then i just sold it for 700$ on ebay again...

I had purchased my own Mig welder at that point and welded it myself.

Here's what the manifold looks like (with the cracks):

Here the cracks have been welded over:

I had to get the downpipe cut and rotated a bit because it had a nice uphill grade on it as it went towards the back of the car. It was hitting the tranny tunnel and I couldn't even attach my exhaust to it!

Here is another example of the poor design. There was no room to put all the bolts into the downpipe to hold it to the turbo. I had to cut the head off of one of the bolts and get it welded in like a stud. The quality is incredibly poor on this kit! Look, no room for a bolt head on there:

you'll need like 7 bottles of advil.

This gets asked enough that someone needs to do and Ebay Turbo Kit sticky and put together all the known crap in one spot. I'm too much of a Turbo :noob: to do it.

Ajb 03-18-2008 09:26 AM

Yea it was a passing thought luckily. Here is another one : it costs half as much to buy a 13b motor n gearbox then to get a turbo kit hmmmmm but im guessing it would cost about 4 times as much with fab work hahaha.

I agree a sticky with ebay kits and do not touch unless mental / a good fabricator sounds like a good idea.

Even the Greddy kit is better than that.
