Default BEGI Downpipe, am i ordering wrong?

Ordered the BEGI 2 3/4 inch downpipe based on recommendations on this site and the fact that it was the biggest on the market. I ordered it because it was a 2 3/4 inch size and had the 31 inch divorced wastegate, and according to the picture was a one piece unit.

What i recieved was a two piece unit, 12 3/4 inch divorced wastegate, a 2 1/4 inch I.D. from the front turbo flange, and a 2 1/2 inch I.D. on the catalytic converter flange.

Did i get something else, or did i specify wrong to the company? I was told by the BEGI representative that the specs on the website were not for my miata.

What size downpipes has everyone else recieved? Am i the only one or is this what everyone else got when they ordered from BEGI?

Thanks
nick

the greddy downpipe is different than their standard downpipe for their BEGi kits.

we acutally got them to develop that DP based on thier divorced design...you got the right thing...

How come on this forum everyone is saying that they are getting the 2 3/4 inch downpipe, or at least specifically on this site under the greddy chat part. The part i dont get is that if im am getting the right piece (the 2 1/2 inch) that makes the turbotony dp a way better deal. 150 dollars for a divorced wastegate hardly sounds like a deal on the BEGI

There is a long thread on this forum regarding the design of the BEGi dp for greddy miatas. Stephanie stated that the pipe is 2.25" at the turbo swaged to 2.5" after the wastegas pipe is routed in. Had you asked, I'm sure they could have swaged the pipe to 2.75". The outlet of the td04 turbo is 2.25" so that is not a design problem in the pipe. In fact, it probably promotes exhaust gas velocity.

The difference between the steel tony pipe and steel BEGi pipe is only $35. If I were buying a pipe, it would be the BEGi. In fact, I wanted to, but I got a Tony pipe FOR FREE. I couldn't turn down FREE.

If you want, I'll gladly trade you my Tony pipe for your BEGi pipe. I will pay shipping on both.

Ben, If you decide to use the BEGI pipe and want to get rid of your Tony pipe, I'll give you double what you paid for it!

i did extensive searches on this forum for the sizes and types of downpipes avaliable for the miata. However, i never saw on any of the posts that the begi was only 2.5, everything always said 2.75 and thats why it was such a good idea.

From that really long *** post of crap you didn't read through good enough....

The flange at the cat is 2.5", so the flange diameters have to match it.

since the outlets of both the wastegate and exhaust both match on the DP you have better flow....then it staggers out to 2.5" once they meet back up....it's a better design over the RM design.

i have since gone through and re read that "crap post" to find that yes indeed the 2 and 3/4 is really only a 2 1/2 about midway through the third page of useless text. Have since talked to stephanie and we are trying to work out a fix for me. Some of the work on my dp was sub-par, so she is trying to fix some of the problems for me.

Im not giving crap to ben, being an ******* on my posts not exactly what i want from someone who wants my stuff.
