Sudden lost of power!!!

HI Gentlemen!!

My Greddy kit has been on my car for 7 months now, but recently there is a glitch with daily driving issue. ( ALL Mods are listed in signature)

- Suddenly the car loses power, it feels as its pouring way too much fuel. I couldn't even get up the hill with full thottle.

- Usually it starts acting like this, once the car has been heated up.

- Disconnect than connect the battery helps for a moment or so.

What could be causing this problem?
- No Sparks? Coil?
- AFM?
- O2 sensor?
- other?

HELP PLEASE!:sadwavey:

Take the emanage out of the system(I think I remember you have a boomslang) remove the pin from your wastegate and let it hang loose and try it again. Your boost will be low, but if it doesn't bog, you have narrowed it down.

sticky injector? Leaking map boost/vac hose?

Mimime 06-10-2007 12:12 AM

I will try taking some code from the dianostic box.

And taking the EMB out of the system for sure.

Will post back!

OG, if I take the pin out that's holding the WG? do I leave the lever shut or at open position?

medisyn 06-10-2007 01:09 AM

you might want to look into a vacuum leak/ aka check your intake. I know mine was so bad my car would barely move forward. Mine was a combination of crank nose failure and the vac leak. I could barely pull into my parking lot without it dieing LOL.

open, it should just blow open on it's own anyway though. If there is any force holding it closed with the pin out then you need to fix that problem as well.

the reason why I do not think it was a vaccum leak was, the Boost/Vac gauge was moving where it was suppose to when I step on the gas, but just the car didn't move much!

akaryrye 06-10-2007 02:15 AM

so it sounds like the problem is intermittent correct? If so then I wouldn't think it to be a vacuum leak. Happens when the car is warmed up? I dont know why it would be like that. Im going to have to second taking the EMB out, is it possible that the AFPR is sticking?

HAYES Repair Manual

Symptom:

Egnine surges while holding accelerate steady = Fuel pump not working properly.

what do you guys thinks. My walbro been in the car for only 5 months!

Mimime 06-10-2007 02:34 AM

AKARYRYE, yes its intermittent. I thought about if its the Vortech, but it would that affect only in boost? Since its occuring even when I am out of boost.

well i have never opened one up myself, so it may be totally wrong, but it may be possible for it to occasionally stick clamped down a little bit and raise the fuel pressure.

Mimime 06-10-2007 02:49 AM

Having a Fuel Pressure gauage and WB would be really handy now! haha

Its so hard to track down the problem since its not always happening.

Here are where it could go wrong:
- EMB
- AFM
- 02 sensor
- AFPR
- Fuel Pump
- Coil pack/spark
- ECU

dammit!

Mimime 06-10-2007 05:00 AM

How to disable Vortech without taking the unit out of the fuel system?

Can I just remove the disc inside?

greddymx5 06-10-2007 05:28 AM

to disable the vortech, remove vacuum line...
that is , when funktioning properly...
you can check the vortech by removing it...the fuel line to the vortech should have no pressure (remove fuel filler cap first)
you should be able to blow airtrough the fuel lines witthout too much problem...

Mimime 06-10-2007 07:28 AM

After somethought, it could really be a sticky Vortech!
