Default Can I just add octane booster?

I still have 3/4 tank of regular 87 octane gas in the take and I am ready to start the installation. Can I just add some octane booster from Autozone or do I need to run the take out and then fill up with 93 octane?

Stupid question I know, but...

You should run through that tank and change the filter while you are at it before installing the Turbo.

Octane booster isn't the answer, unless the question is how do I waste my hard earned money.

You'll probably want a little bit of break-in/fine-tuning time before you start really rompin' on it. I wouldn't think you'd have any detonation problems if you followed a fairly strict break-in, ie... no more than half-throttle, shift by 4k, easy on the hills, etc... which is always recommended for a couple of drives after major surgery. You want to make damn sure everything fits right, the turbo is getting good oil, all your bolts are set tight and your piping is secured. Better to find out you missed something going for a nice little drive around the neighborhood rather than heading instantly for the nearest on ramp and sucking a clamp into the compressor.

If you really wanted to be sure, at 3/4 tank, it's only about 7 gallons. Go to AZ and pick up a syphon kit and a 5 gallon gas can... then you'll have mower gas for a year or so, then go fill up w/93.

my break in consists of putting the kit on, and then hammering all over the place.

If it's good enough for Formula One cars running 73psi boost then it's good enough for me.

OK, a friend of mine works at a sherwin williams so i went to see him today, told him i needed to toluene and he went and grabbed it outta the back for me. 16.50 a gallon!!!! told him it was to expensive so then it somehow magically dropped to 12.XX then since that was too expensive it dropped to 5.50, LOL i love knowing people!! Anyways, mixed up the gallon with some marvel mystery oil and i'm gonna put about half a gallon of the "jet fuel" mix into my tank next time i fill up, let you all know how it works for me.
