I know some of you want this flange so you can do a nice oil return line.

Dammit. They want $19 to ship it to Canada, and the part only costs $14.99. Oh well, sucks to be me.
Thanks for the link WOT. Jay |
Sometimes Function7 sells them cheaper on eBay:

Thanks for the link, looks like they'll still try to bend me over on the shipping :(
It's not the cost, it's the principle of of it. I'm not paying that much to have something that small shipped. |
Ima gonna get one for myself. You want me to get one for you and send it your way at actual cost?
|
That would be awesome Ben, thanks.

WOT, would this be the correct item for my greddy http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Funct...QQcmdZViewItem
Is the gasket necessary (additional $3)? Thanks |
That's the exact flange I bought and added that stainless steel pipe to get the rubber hose away from the hot manifold.
|
Thanks!
did you get the gasket? |
Any oild drain flange that is listed for a GT series ball bearing turbo should work..
I just ordered one from ATPturbo.com for $15...and it is better quality...why not do that? |
The gasket from the rx7 fd3s twin turbo set-up will fit the Greddy oil drain flange.
|
Well if the ATP Turbo one works I know a good guy to pick one up through....
|
It would make sense that the GT series flange would work, Function 7 lists that as on of the turbos their flange works with. The only issue will be the allen bolts, the TD04 take 6mm and the GT 8mm. I can source those myself :)
I'm going to try this flange and see if it works. ATP-FLA-010 (flange) GRT-GSK-008 (gasket) I think the flange is tapped for 1/2 NPT Jay |
I will buy it back from you if it doesn't work. Flipside can use it on the twin GT28RS M3.
|
I bought the version with the -10AN male thread from the same guy. Very nice piece of hardware. Felt like it was made out of solid stuff, not cast pot metal, and well machined.

Canadian Distributor
Function-7 has a Canadian distributor. The reason why shipping is so expensive is because of duty. While you can get around paying duty by "Gifting" an item, you'll be hard pressed to find companies that are willing to do that as part of thier standard business practice.
Visit the distributor's website at: http://www.bepcanada.com

Did the ATP-FLA-010 flange and gasket from ATPTURBO work?
|
yes
|
Can someone edjumecate me on what exactly this part does? I'm a little confused. On the ebay link, it states "These flanges can also be installed on the oil pan, secured by nut and bolt so no welding is required!", but it sounds like you guys are talking about installing them on the turbo housing itself. Thanks.
|
if you have the pan off, you could drill holes for the return, and the two bolts. and only tap the bolt holes. then you secure it to the pan with nuts and bolts and a gasket. then you just screw a fitting on it to the turbo.
but who needs welding anyways when you have JB Weld! FWIW, i read on through this page quickly but someone mentioned a gasket on the return. I've always used them. Now the one time i had to remove the return fitting and did not replace it after it was damaged in the process, I've delevoped a leak between the turbo and flange. |
Ahhh...gotcha! *adds yet ANOTHER part to the growing list*
|
just buy A 1/2" NPT to 5/8" slip-on fitting. tap the pan, and screw it on.
you cannot remove the oil pan without a lot of effort in your part. https://www.miataturbo.net/forums/at...4&d=1140491587 |
For the return flange to turbo flange I used a gasked from my 3rd Gen RX-7. Lined up perfectly.
Also, instead of buying a drain adapter, I cut the stock greddy one at the flange. Drilled the hole out and tapped it for the same size barb you use on the oil pan. I then soldered it up. You could use this process to put any end on the return flange you wanted if you were so inclined. |
