Default Anyone Know Where To Get The Clamp That Holds The Turbo Together

Today when I was driving my car the "C-Clamp I Believe Is What It's Called" Fell Off. I was going down the road and I heard a loud metal noise and it went out from under the car and it wouldn't boost after that and I finally figured out that the clap fell off. Anyone know where I can pick one up at? Thanks a lot

Argh, I would post something useful but your post needs more specificity. What claMp? Clamp not clap.

That's a V-band clamp, you could possibly find one on ebay or any other turbo vendor may be able to sell you that specific size of clamp. DO NOT DRIVE WITHOUT IT.

edit: since you're new, I'll spell it out for you before you ask, CHRA = Center Housing Rotating Assembly

Make you a deal: You learn to spell, and I'll tell you where to get that clamp.

I doubt that would make a loud metallic noise.

Depends on the turbo. If it's an OEM turbo from a pretty common car, than yes. If it's a Greddy or other AFT turbo, probably not. And I know Garrett has a special size just so you can't use another brands clamp. Even the locking nut is a special size.

Do you even know what you are talking about?! The Greddy kit uses a Mitsubishi TD04 and the clamp is the same for pretty much all of the TD04 CHRA's. And please show me a Garrett that uses a clamp on the CHRA. Damn I hate it when people post FALSE information!!

You mean you have to find the same turbo for the clamp to fit? You mean it's special made for just that turbo? I am pretty sure I said that.

Oh, and you want to see a Garrett with clamps...

Yeah, we're talking about using a clamp from a tank turbo. lol

You should put that turbo on your 1.6 so it will be easier to drive on the track.

How about you use something realistic to what we may use and not a custom GT55. Even then those are simple T clamps.

Whatever, they use them, and the guy didn't give any details about what turbo it was before I started my reply. All he said was he was driving and something fell off and he stopped making boost. Hell, he could have had a ******* GT55R on a LS7 in his car with the kind of details he put.

I never said to use a bigger turbo, I'm pretty sure one of the morons on this site said that. I said I moved the spool on the turbo later in the RPM range so we could get a better run out of Rattlesnake without spinning too much. Sorry if that's too difficult for some idiots to comprehend, but some people set the car up to be fast at the track.

What lap times did you run at MSR, Sr Hustler? My car ran 1:27-1:28. Warm-up laps (before the tires dropped off) were 1:29-1:30.

Considering this is a miata forum, he most likely referred to a miata.

I need to get a transponder for that place, but eraser-x said I did 1:27's in traffic on the 2nd session of my car's life. I look forward to getting some real times. We need to get out there an play some time. I will be out there for a member day as soon as my new toys arrive.
