Default FM Manifold - tightening/getting to the center nut

How the hell do you do it? I'm sure I have the older style manifold but it seems basically impossible. Definately not do-able with a ratchet/socket and I don't see how a wrench will either.

There must be a special trick or tool that I don't know about.

thanks.

Doh.

Forgot to try it from below the manifold. Enough room to tighten the nut half a turn at a time. Probably shouldn't be tired when I'm wrenching on the car.

Glad you figured it out, really easy to get at from the bottom.

On my new BEGI manifold the only way to reach one of the lower bolts was grind down a wrench to fit.

See, I'm not real sure if I have the older or newer style FM kit. I bought it used last year. It's got the old style downpipe, but I noticed the manifold is already slotted.

If it's got the old style downpipe, you most likely have the older manifold.

Can you post a picture of it?

I had an old style FM DP but could fit the closed end of a box wrench over the center bottom nut when I removed it.
