Just got it from UPS today. Can't wait to get it on!! I'll also be getting a used enthuza 2.5 inch catback later this week. Waiting to put them both on at the same time. I'll report back on the gains and fit. :)

I had Tony make the downpipe into two pieces to hopefully save me the hassle of having to take off the turbo and manifold. Looks good, although the high temp paint easily rubs off thanks to UPS's gentle handling of the package.

Ordered it on the 20th on the phone and I got it today. 8 day turn around.

Wow, thanks for posting that. I've been in contact with Tony over teh course of the past few days about a downpipe. He's quick on the draw with responding. I like that.

firedog25 06-28-2006 07:42 PM

Also, how much did you pay? If you don't mind me asking.

nyuaznguy 06-28-2006 07:46 PM

$220 including shipping.. tell him to give you a better price.. maybe he'll budge...

Braineack 06-28-2006 09:14 PM

That's a steal. You should weld in a small flex pipe while its out. Or not.

turbotony 06-28-2006 09:28 PM

hi guys , let me know how it goes with he install & if there are any changes I need to make .
thanks tony

JDMAflac 06-29-2006 12:25 AM

for that price he'll have a future customer!!!

CRX 06-29-2006 12:34 AM

Ditto. If it works with my HKS manifold and the 1.8 engine placement, I'm in. :D

He told me he would do a flex for like 240 or so.
Hey can we get some other shots of it? Some that are perhaps closer and would show the overall build quality (which so far looks pretty good!) :bigtu:
EDIT: Now I wonder will this DP work with my FM heatshield?

firedog25 06-29-2006 01:27 AM

I'm pretty sure the FM heat shield will require "modification" to fit this downpipe. A hole drilled in it to accomodate the O2 sensor to begin with. However, the rest should fit with minimal bending if any. My FM heat shield has plenty of room to the rear of the unit, I had to ding it anyways because of the brake components. Now it kind of acts like a master cylinder brace, firmed the hell out of my brake pedal, that took a bit to get used to.

More pics below....

The scuffs again are from UPS's handling of the package. Otherwise the pipe is looking great..

last one..

As for the O2 bung, now that I think about it, Tony probably could relocate it.. just ask..

medisyn 06-29-2006 04:04 AM

awesome thanks for the pics.

BrokeEnthusiast 06-29-2006 10:14 AM

why do you want a flex pipe put in? will that let you be able to install the DP without removing the turbo?

CRX 06-29-2006 04:01 PM

A flex pipe will let the exaust move around as the cars chasis flexes. It puts less stress on the turbo and manifold, therefore, less chance of a cracked manifold or broken bolt.

BrokeEnthusiast 06-29-2006 09:33 PM

oh okay thanks, so has tony said how much more for a flex pipe? and how much bending of the FM heatshuild must be done to install this? I thought these were like replicas of the RMDP

firedog25 06-29-2006 10:09 PM

I'll let you know how much bending is involved with the heat shield in a week or so when mine comes in. Flex pipes are going for $240 shipped.

hi guys , if anybody is willing to send me their old greddy dp with the new location of the o2 nut I can make a location on my jeg.
thanks tony

firedog25 06-30-2006 12:22 AM

I like the location you have it in now personally. I don't have to put my car up on a jack and cut my arm and hand up taking it off with your placement. The Greddy placement made it damn near impossible to put the O2 sensor in.

Hey Tony,

Glad to see another quality vendor reading and posting. I have an RMDP with the location very similiar to the one in the picture and find it very easy to work with.

You might want to think about offering(as an upcharge) a bung welded on top of the pipe as it passes alongside the open area by the transmission. It is a perfect spot for a WBO2 and removing everything later to have one welded on is a bitch. You could offer it with a plug that the purchaser could open when they needed it.
