Tony's DP still around

Hey guys I haven't been on here in a while. Was just wondering if Tony that was doing the downpipes for the greddy kit was still around and how I might be able to contact him? Thanks.

Braineack 12-29-2007 12:38 PM

instead of tracking down Tony, you could give BEGi a call....

trackfiend 12-29-2007 01:02 PM

Was looking to get a DP flange from him. I had talked with him before about a stainless flange but I lost his contact info.

tronik 12-29-2007 01:35 PM

begi is still working on the downpipe. I sent in my greddy kit for them to use in R&D, that was about a month ago. I haven't heard from them since they got it, my guess is they are very busy with all the projects. patience though, I am sure it will be an awesome piece.

Tony is still around, just email him, he's a busy man so it may take a few days for a reply. I plan on getting one from him because I can't justify spending so much unless it is proven with numbers that there is a large difference in spool between his and the Begi piece.

papasmurf 12-29-2007 06:10 PM

He is definitely still around and still making pieces. I had mine made just last month.

bubbaflaat 01-02-2008 06:43 PM

yea I would like his info as well, I really want a downpipe from him.

elesjuan 01-02-2008 07:15 PM

How universal are his pipes or are they for specific manifolds and turbos?

all he makes ....that im aware of anyway..... is a replacemet pipe for the greddy kit's on 1.6L miatas...

tronik 01-02-2008 08:00 PM

wonder why he (or anyone else) never thought to come up with a manny and DP to fit the greddy kit to a 94-97 or a 99+. With all the threads on here and m.net you know there is a market.

Shit. I'm really not looking forward to attempting fabrication of a downpipe for my 95.

Ole 01-04-2008 05:55 AM

where can I get his info to contact him?

Bryce 01-04-2008 09:02 AM

His screenname on here is turbotony. Go to his profile and his email is in there.

well, last week this is what she says to me: "Car is in the shop and being taken apart this week. I should know more in two weeks."

lets just hope its worth the wait.

tronik 01-09-2008 10:43 AM

you mean the car they are using to measure? because they just have my kit, not my car

reckless_abandon 01-09-2008 01:11 PM

i have no idea. thats just what stephanie told me.

jayc72 01-09-2008 01:22 PM

I would imagine the are using the kit on a test mule car to build the proto-type. Then from that build a jig for production.

Milton Tucker 01-09-2008 03:09 PM

I called BEGI 2 days ago, was told Stephanie would call or email me, yet still I wait. I emailed Stephanie 2 am this morning, still no response. I placed my order back in September, and was promised a November delivery. I respect the fact they want to produce a high quality part, and this takes time. There customer service is second to none, and I have always been well treated when ever I called. There reaches a point when one can wait no more, I am at that point. If I receive no response by COB today, I will order the tubing to construct my own DP. Had I known I would be state side this long, I would have already constructed a new exhaust system.

After a slight adjustment I was able to get it to stop rattling. His placement of the slip joint was in a less than ideal location, it should have been further down stream.

Fireindc 01-09-2008 07:55 PM

Wow, the BEGI greddy upgrade pipes still aren't finished? Damn, i might just have to go RM in that case.

Bryce 01-09-2008 08:50 PM

No no, go to Tony.

miataspeed1point6 01-12-2008 02:28 AM

I have a tony down pipe. It is a snug fit but I don't have any rubbing or hitting issues. So far it is the best upgrade I have made to my kit.

Bryce 01-12-2008 02:29 AM

I'm waiting on a response from him on an email I sent several days ago. :(

Harv 01-13-2008 10:52 AM

Hmmm. Well if BEGI doesn't have their downpipe issues worked out by spring then I will probably see if Tony can do one up for me. That and the free flow cat and larger exhaust are my planned upgrades for when it starts getting warmer.
