I've warned two already. Next time it's a full on infraction. Please noobs, wait for TSE to post viable information, which i'm sure they'll do as soon as there's something to post about.

The best stance to take is to pretend nothing is ever going to happen, that way when (if) they release a kit, you aren't disappointed because of the wait.

I think Andrew bit off wayyyyy more than he can chew.
But definitely hope this actually see's the light of day some day, and he succeeds in this after making some seriously hefty claims against fm/begi. He's young and very ambitious, you live and you learn.

It happens. I think they're in a spot right now where they have more business than the current employees can handle but cant quite justify paying another worker. Or at least thats the vibe I get. Because they do do more than just sell parts, I believe they have a couple of rental cars, etc. When it takes 9 months for a shop to build an engine it makes sense that its going to take them a long time to design a turbo setup to be a bolt in affair.

Not sure if that is the case but I can say from experience when you hire your first employee you are doubling your staff. When you hire your second employee you are adding 50% and so on. The first few hires are by far the hardest and where most small businesses get mired unless you are hiring low-skill or wage labor. Assuming you don't have crazy financing or a runaway success initially anyway. Health insurance, 401k, proper business insurance, etc etc are growing pains that tend to crop up when you hit certain numeric thresholds as well.

That said, I don't think it's unreasonable to check back on a 2-3 month interval after the promise date and during race season. I am definitely interested in the project as well.

I'd say I bit off more than I could chew in 2007 when I turbocharged a Miata using OTS parts while expecting it to be reliable on track.

The hold-up is manifolds. I have a pair of bitchin' tubular prototypes on my R&D shelf, but nobody wants to pay $1200 for a Miata manifold, as it turns out. It also turns out that although the investment-cast version of that manifold will be much, much cheaper, they don't just appear out of nowhere. It takes time - quite a bit of time, as it turns out.

So that's where we are - waiting for manifolds. Once I get my working proto I'll post some photos and continue work on the rest of the kit, but until it arrives my focus is elsewhere. This isn't the only new product I'm developing.

Every small business like Trackspeed is at the mercy of suppliers. Giant billion dollar internationals are too in some respects but the have the reach and finances to make supply glitches go away. I'm patient and maybe one day one of the prototypes will fall off the shelf and into a box of misc parts I order from time to time.

I think this thread proves that tracking a reliable turbo miata is simply impossible, should just lock the thread.

I think it proves that company's formed around a private racing program would rather go racing than develope parts.
