Turbo is on with Stripes IC setup. Some questions as I finalize install.

After putting on the IC and pipes it looks like the plastic under tray won't be going back on without some modifications. How much of an issue is this for people in terms of overheating? I think I read somewhere with folks running Stripes setup that it wasn't too much of an issue overall, but I'm just looking for clarification.

Also, we aren't quite done. I'm probably going to put 1.8 injectors on. We've got the 190HP fuel pump on there. I've got a Bipes and olderguy's O2 Clamp and I'm running the Vortech with the 12:1 disc. Am I looking at running rich with this setup at stock boost levels? I'm thinking I probably need the 8:1 disc, but again looking for clarification

I'll probably hit the dyno to get some idea of where the thing is at after everything is hooked up. I might just spring for the BEGI regulator depending on how well this turns out.

I haven't had any overheating issues w/o the undertray. That being said, the car is running a few degrees hotter. So reinstalling the tray in theory will bring my coolant temps back down a little, and maybe even lower intake temps some too.

Aside from temp issues, since air is now allowed to get into the engine compartment and push up, the car handles like shit over 100. The front end lightens up and it's less than confidence inspiring when driving. The effects would probably come in earlier with stock suspension.

I would hack up the undertray to fit around the pipes.

To re-use the stock undertray, I cut it down the middle and added a strip of sheet metal, making the tray a few inches wider, which allowed it to bolt up just fine. I did my own piping, but I believe it is similar to the Stripes kit.

I recently compared my intake temps and water temps to when I was running without an undertray and front shroud. Driving conditions for these comparisons was around town type of driving with moderate to heavy boosting. I found my air intake temps were about the same with or without an undertray and front shroud. My air intake temps stayed around 4-6 degrees above ambient at full boost. I may have seen a degree cooler while running the front shroud. As for my coolant temps, I saw relatively no change. Coolant temps stayed within the 94-95c range. I did however notice the coolant temp cooled down faster with the undertray and front shroud. My findings were minor, but I still think it would be a great idea to reinstall these parts. You probably would find these parts necessary at the track were your car is more prone to overheating. Also, one thing I should note, I'm not running ac and have a dual core radiator.

Once I figure out how to clear my stored attachments, I'll upload some pics of my undertray.

That's good info on the cooling. I think with a couple of cut-outs on the undertray where the IC pipes come down that it will fit back on just fine. Now the front shroud I don't think is going back on very easily, but I'll take a look at that also.

One other question I had was with regard to the blow-off valve. I actually ordered an anti-surge valve from BEGI and I know that the IC pipes have a place to put it, but I'm wondering how I'm going to route the air back into the system after the intake.

Finally got to drive the thing yesterday after the Torsen got put on. It pulls nicely after about 3500rpm. I'm pretty happy with it for now. I'm thinking I'll enjoy it until next summer and then start upgrading pieces and parts.
