Vortech with Greddy Kit
Anyone knows what kind of disk comes with the Vortech FMU that is included in the greddy kit? I guess I never thought about it before.

12:1 in a new kit
|
if you're staying running a fuel pressure system, first purchase after the WB needs to be a disk kit or a BEGi FMU. 12:1 is nuts
|
Ben,
why do you think 12:1 is nuts? |
do the math...stock pump can only output 70-80psi. new pump should be bale to output closer to 120psi.
5 x 12 + 50 = 110psi. at 5psi you're already at 110psi of fuel with a 12:1 disc. |
The only time you can stay with the 12:1 is with the OEM pump(which tops out at 80psi)
|
so I've got my 190lph hp pump coming from lighting motorsports. are you saying I'll have to first get a disc kit and put a 10:1 or less in there?
|
Yes. Less than a 10:1
You want to calculate based on the injectors you will be using. |
1.8 265 injectors. which disc would be recomended?

Here's some info on this subject (but for another car) |
Physics. Very similiar to the plot of the DSM OEM pump you referenced.

I run a 6:1 with 270cc nissan rb2o injectors and a 190hp pump. 2 1/2 inch downpipe transitionig to 3 inch with no cat, and a 2 1/2 inch hard intake crossover.
6ish psi (snugged wastegate, no boost gauge yet), NO INTERCOOLER. Timing at 6 degrees with ngk zfr7f-11 plugs gapped at .035 Car runs vey well with absolutely no detonation. |
Well, if you go with the 12:1, you could get the GSS250 190lph which supplies plenty of flow and pressure up to 100psi and tops out. I find the 12:1 works better for supplying fuel quicker during acceleration, but this is just from the butt dyno. I would have to log a/f ratios for each disk from 6:1 to 12:1 to see if they make a difference.

you guys and your guessing....use the math in my FAQ
