Adaptronic is an unusual choice these days. Have you seen the MS3 Basic that Reverent is building?
See comparison chart here.
See discussion thread here.
If I was in the market for an ECU it would be difficult to choose differently at present. You must be in Australia to choose otherwise. There is no location in your profile under your screen name.
You have neglected the harmonic balancer upgrade which becomes very important at higher horsepower values. Harmonic Balancer Miata

the adaptronic is due to my location i am afraid of my preferred tuner not knowing how to use ms3 cause i know that is a preference on here
other things i am happy with adaptronic is the easy flex fuel feature
the bad things like no dual boost maps are a bit of a detractor not to mention
the $1700 price tag here in australia
the balancer i not payed attention to cause i see so many that do not do it they just do the boundry oil pump i will have to do further reaserch on this thank you
its never cheap is it

Nope. Building performance cars has a way of getting your money out of you upfront (buy expensive quality components first), or later (buy cheap stuff, watch it break, then buy the expensive components anyways).
Good luck with the build, get a thread going in the build section if you get a chance.

My Current build plans for my 1999 mx5 manual are
Engine
Everything looks solid
Avo turbo kit
Avo Manifold ported, polished and port matched not sure why you would go this route with a nice built engine and good turbo vs a nice tubular setup
replace avo inlet pipe
GT2871rs good
custom 3" dump pipe

Your choice of turbo is good too.
I'm just kinda iffy about the AVO setup vs something much more efficient available through our fabricators

Not a lot of people use the avo stuff. Most of it is either fm/begi or custom. There are a bunch of greddy kits floating around but they are getting more and more sparse.
You're such a jackass. Go read the thread. People said you wouldn't hit 340-350 or something along those lines not 325. Even with your suspicious dyno you still didn't do anything we didn't already know. e85 is good for some extra mid range tq and a couple % up top.
last time i checked 325 is not 350 even on some shady dyno.

I priced up a fm kit here for australia normal kit cost plus all the extras i wanted and getting it to here was heading over 7,000aud which was too much
And i do remember reaserching a gt2871 on a fm log you do need to knotch the rail whick is a big no no here in australia
Another reasons for choosing an avo cast over a fabricated one that it has that semi stock look its a full kit that works i can replace the bits that wont suit my goals ie that restrictive dump pipe and the cast inlet also reliability come into consideration
Another thing i have read on here a member replaced his AVO log manifold with a begi one and lost spool which i didnt give a crap about but it has recently become a factor for drivability reasons
As for Dan he might very well have those figures but a 1/4 mile run is the way to see if he uses a "happy dyno"
Sounds wierd i prefer a low reading dyno it feels more realistic i always quote the lower for my nugget ford even though it has read higher
With the boosted 1.8 guys have you had any benigit from cams at all ?
My engine builder thinks its the only thing im missing
