what does the G stand for after 15? i cant find what it is i know it the size of the compressor wheel but what is the word???

mike_671 08-25-2007 08:47 AM

i cant help you but thats a good question

firedog25 08-25-2007 01:02 PM

Gaaaaarrrrooooooovy.

akaryrye 08-25-2007 02:32 PM

well since the td05 is the hotside of the turbo, the 15g is the compressor. Now after doing a little poking around on the best subaru forum ever (nasioc.com) Someone mentioned there are turbos marked with an H (in the place of the G) and it stands for high flow and that was confirmed by a few people as well. What does G stand for though idk?

boostinsteve 08-25-2007 02:42 PM

I think that the h is for the turbine side. I think that there is a hl also, and that is the mack daddy of the td04 turbines. It is like an 1/8"-1/4" bigger turbine. The g is just the classification for the compressor blades if I remember correctly. I think it is for the pitch of the blades, but I am probably wrong. I remember reading that somewhere, I will try finding it again.

akaryrye 08-25-2007 03:01 PM

Ok so you think that if someone has a TD05 15h that the h is for the turbine? I just dont think thats correct, if it was a turbine designation, it would be TD05h 15. The H, G, or whatever on these mitsubishi turbos is, like you said, most likely the pitch of the blades, how many blades, etc to tweak the efficency and flow from a particular compressor housing.

G stands for Gay.

You know, because we drive miatas. :hahano:

It's just too bad the regional areas like SCIC are filled with douchebags of the highest order.

G stands for 'Greddy'

:hahano:
IIRC, it's just the designation for the specific double blade compressor wheel. A model number if you will. I saw on some DSM turbo site once a chart that showed all the wheels and their differences. The G wheel was the best for this application.

I just upgraded my 15g to a 19t with gpopshop, I heard the T was better from Gpop shop when I asked about the different compressor wheels.

Any info on that?

The g just stand for the style compressor wheel.

Mitsu has many different turbo from all the cars and trucks.

Here is a small list of different mitsu turbos and the different wheels.

TDO4-9B-6CM2 265 CFM TDO5H-14G-8CM2 465 CFM
TDO5-12A-8CM2 320 CFM TDO5H-16G-7CM2 505 CFM
TDO4-13G-5CM2 360 CFM TDO5H-16G-10CM2 505 CFM
TEO4-13C-6CM2 360 CFM TDO6-17C-8CM2 550 CFM
TDO4L-13G-6CM2 360 CFM TDO6H-20G-14CM2 650 CFM
TDO4L-15C-8.5CM2 390 CFM TDO7S-25G-17CM2 850 CFM
TDO5H-14B-6CM2 405 CFM TFO8L-30V-18CM2 1200 CFM

As you can see Mitsu has a mass amount of turbos through there years.
I am not sure 100% what the letter means, I believe is the shape of the wheel.
I know the number is the size ie a 9B is smaller then a 14B etc.

dude thanks that was a real nice little chunk of info there!
