What size are the wastegate bracket bolts?

..the ones for attaching the wastegate to the turbo housing. I lost one and the turbo is VTA thru the threaded hole where the bolt once was.

Take one of the bolts to home depot and try some nuts.

Ha ha..very funny! :bigtu:

I know that, but I have to drive the car to the hardware store and by the time I get there, the bolt will be a little too hot to handle.

Most likely M8. or maybe 1/8"

Ok, can't get a ride with someone?

Go to the hardware store and buy some bolts that look to be about the right size and try them. My bet is on M6. Not rocket science. :)

Today must be my lucky day! Before leaving for work, I remembered that the bolt was missing and I was leaking boost out thru it. Fortunately, it was not the bolt holding the wastgate can bracket, but another which acts as a plug (which I never realized was a plug).

I rummaged thru my drawer of extraneous bolts and found an exact fit! Woo-hoo! Not only did it fit, but it fixed my mysterious boost leak and the problem I had with the air/fuel mix and the A/F ratiometer not sweeping. I never realized that it had begun to leak around the old bolt and then eventually it worked its way out.

sweep, sweep, sweep
