Default BEGi bypass valve VTA

Soooo, this may be a little rice buuuuutttt, i have my bypass valve venting to atmosphere. I do have the mspnp so im map based. Are there any downsides to it? I mean, it does have air blowing out of it at idle.

it sounds pretty sweet though.

If your worried about the engine sucking in dirty air from the BOV,just put a small K&N filter on it.

Yes I am serious.

FM use to supply the small K&N filters for the BOV as part of the turbo kits.

Chances are it'll leak at idle and suck in unfiltered air.

Some people are just ---- about the fact the engine might suck in unfiltered air.

the bov is right before the TB. and yes, when the throttle is closed, there is vacuum that opens the valve and the turbo is blowing air through it.

This my just be me being stupid, but you might just be leaking mad boost, i did that to my aunts evo because she wanted the sound and then she complained about it being slow, tested it with a camera inside the engine bay(a bit daft i know, but cool video, ill upload it some day), sho'nuff it was VOMITNG boost like it was going out of style. i know some are bypass and some are blow off but if it came intended to be used as a bypass, i dun think u can use it vice versa

I weet what is traffic diversion and what are blow away but if it came planned for are used since a traffic diversion thinks, I thinly you can vice-versa using

well, its closed when the throttle is open so, im going to say im not leaking boost. It sounds like you dont understand what kind of bypass valve im talking about.

You wouldn't happen to have a teeny tiny turbo with an AbsurdFlow exhaust that makes boost at idle would you?

Your turbo isn't pushing anything at idle, the engine is sucking. Creating vacuum ....

hmm... i think i may see the problem here, i didnt have the idle air tube hooked up, that would mean that the motor was not sucking idle air through the piping but from outside, therefore making a little bit of positive flow in the piping. That also means it was sucking unfiltered air.

That would make me feel better i KNOW that there was air blowing out of the bypass valve.

But you're sucking in unfiltered air through your idle air tube...
