Talking Wi

I got the WI installed last night, started doind some tuning today. I have only put 2 degrees of timing back in so far, and wow, what a difference. Right as soon as the WI switches on, the turbo spools so much quicker it is crazy. The car right now feels like a new animal. With my new timing maps in, the power really starts coming on at 3100 rpm, and just gets more violent from there. In 4th and 5th gear, the clutch starts slipping almost violently if I step on it on the highway. Crazy. Good thing I have an ACT clutch just sitting in the corner of my room. For anyone that has even been thinking about getting WI, It allows a lot more power on the stock level greddy. Thanks for the help guys and thank you Wideopentuning.

Yeah, I remember hearing that it adds the mass to the exhaust which will help the turbo spool quicker. It is that, or just my ignition maps are a lot better because there is more room to play due to the cooler intake temps. I think it is a combo of the 2 things, but the car is awesome now, even at the same boost level.

Glad to see more people with good results from their DO kits. How did you do your install? In the trunk or under the hoot off the washer bottle?

I did it in the trunk, I put a pretty big resevoir in there for daily driving, if and when I start to autocross, I will put a smaller tank in, just enough to last the few seconds. I am currently using a mix it yourself windshield washer fluid that is extremely high in meth, and going about 30%WWF, and 70%water.

Sounds awesome!

If you're going to autox with the SCCA last I remember (and it's been awhile) WI would be banned. Could be wrong.

What boost are you running?

Mine picks up when the spray comes on to i thought it was just my 16g comming into a beter effeciancy range for a while but the WI does help steve dont dilute the WW fluid straight up it is about 12% diluting it makes it 3%methanol you would get about the same results from straight water than a 4%< mixture

crap, i've been spending too much time on gaming sites. I clicked on this thread expecting it to be a review of a certain Nintendo console.

:sigh:

On a related note though, i've been seriously looking into the DO kits after all the good reviews on here.

The windshield washer fluid is a concentrate, so it recommends that it make 20gals of fluid at 9%meth, and I only made 2.5gals. The generic math that I used in one of my above threads was just an estimate. My bad. I will do the math and see what it comes out to. I have also noticed the difference of traction, You can feel the rear end start to come down a little. According to the gage, I am only at the ~5psig level.

it is alright i just thought you where using of the shelf washer fluid, it doesn't have any saop or anything like that in it does it that isnt good for the jets, over time but oh well they can be cleaned. so long as you are sure what you got for meth % i dont fault your math skils just dont want some one to think the normal WF is a pure grade stuff. so is it quicker your bsfc should have gone down.

I need new injectors, I am trying to decide what injectors will suit what I want first. I am still not sure if I want to stop at 10psig, or step up to one of the bigger turbines and really jack up the power. I think that with the WI, you could run a little bigger turbine and have it feel like an intercooled car. I love WI, it transformed the vehicle yet again. Definately will be trying to get my friend to get a kit for his scion when he finally turbo's that thing. Come to think of it though, there is some foam in the tank, ****, I think it does have soap in it. I will take this tank down and then see if I can source the meth locally. Crazy. Before I really turn the boost up too, I need to construct my dp, or buy a tony dp.
