Will this fuel pump work?
Should this Walbro 190 fuel pump work for my 1993 Intercooled, GReddy turbo'd, Miata. I know it says for 1994-1997, but shouldn't it be a direct replacement for my 1993 also?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Walbr...spagenameZWD1V Or do you have a better place to get a fuel pump or a better pump for the money that you can point me to. Thanks in advice for any help. |
That's the "normal" pressure 190lph pump; what you want is the 190lph HP pump, as it maintains fow at the higher pressures it's going to see on an AFPR setup. You can get them here for $84 plus shipping all day long: http://shopping.lightningmotorsports..._Kit-p-89.html
The part # for the high pressure version is F20000141. |

What's the general consensus on the 255lph/HP pump? I think that's what I've been using for years but I could be wrong.

i've dealt with them also.
no worries :) I've got some buddies lined up to help with a clutch installation at the next Miata tech day in November at the Mazda dealership. 170+rwhp here we come :) $1550 total investment so far. |
Do I remember reading awhile back that the Walbro's have some reliability issues. Also(probably covered at length) does the 1.8 stock pump flow more than the 1.6 stock pump.
Bottom line is that the 190HP pump and a dual feed rail is a super cheap $100 setup that will support up to about 15psi. Even if you're not going to run that much, it makes sense for the price to do it from a "cover your ass" standpoint. |
shameless plug.
