I have a greddy turbo, with an upgraded 2.5 inch down pipe, and I want to buy a wideband over an exhaust rite now. I was wondering will running the stock exhaust hurt the turbo from the back presser that will be built up?

I plan to buy an exhaust, but just not yet, most likely in july some time. I will also be running the stock 5 - 5.5 lbs of boost. Will running the stock exhaust hurt anything reliability wise? thanks.

A very wise choice.

Running the stock exhaust will do no harm to the turbo or any other piece of the system. The added restriction will cause a slight decrease in efficiency relative to a more open system, but nothing's going to break, if that's what you're worried about.

You'll be fine, I ran stock exhaust and tiny Greddy dp for a while and was ok, but I did delete the stock muffler and add a turndown in its place until I got my exhaust.

Stock Exhaust= Slow.

For example.

1/4 time for me with my stock exhaust at 5psi=16.??
1/4 time with open at 5 psi= 15.4

I just keep mine on when im driving around, and try...Try not to race anyone because ill embarrass myself. But then when i go to the drag strip i take it off.

Right now, i am running with a test pipe and otherwise stock exhaust. What kind of restriction is there between the cat and the muffler? Say, if i took the muffler off like you did, how close would that be to say, a 3" exhaust with a decent muffler. Basically what i am saying is that i am broke and would enjoy more power and better spool and i am thinking of removing the stock muffler.

^ If you can enjoy the loudness of that ****, then take it off. If you take out the stock one theres a pretty big difference in spool. I'm sure a three inch from the down pipe is a hole lot better then just taking off the stock exhaust IMO.

Mufflerless stock piping is not really comparable to a good free-flowing exhaust, but since your turbo is already on, go ahead and ditch the muffler, just make sure to route the exhaust down so it doesn't melt your bumper. My mufflerless stock piping was much quieter than my Enthuza, FWIW.

like everyone has said, it wont hurt the car, but it definitely isnt helping you make power with a stock exhaust
