Jeez how many cars did Emilio drive?? I know he drove Crusher, I'm sure he drove Super since it's the other 949-owned car, and that's him getting in or out of Kitty.

He started the race in Kitty. Kitty and Nemo were both fast enough to win E3/E2 if they had not had some of the mechanicals. Super was in line for a podium spot before the front subframe broke. I attribute that speed to me since I took Super out to grid.

That was so disappointing, but what can you do? Take a look at the laptimes @ MyLaps and you will see exactly what I mean. The drivers were doing so well and the mechanics were really kicking ***, but its always something you can't control that seems to come up and bite you in the ***. Things can only take so much abuse before they just break. 25 hours @ or near WOT will definitely do that.

I suspect contact sometime over night initiated the crack where the upper A-arm attaches to the subframe. several hours later and some fatigue cycles and the upper A-arm attacheme ripped out of the subframe in the morning. I think we dropped from 3rd to 8th with that and got back up to 6th. still not bad in a tight 25 car E3 field. Super wasn't quite as Quick as Kitty. It was kind of put together on short notice, no VVT and not quite the same level of development and testing It was still one of the quicker cars on the grid however.

I may have been one of the slower drivers but I will take credit for zero contac and keeping all tires on the track for my stints in Nemo and Super.

I wanted to call the silver car Thuper. More appropriate for an all-Miata team really.

And I could not avoid calling Nemo "Guppy". I have no idea why.

I might have raced against that E30 driver before. And he might have been involved with me spinning at the start of a race at Mission before I got to turn one at the start of a race through no fault of my own.

It took monumental amounts of restraint to not bust out the Sharpie add "and thanks for asking!" to Super's nametag

My main job was to never leave the team hanging for parts and locate where anything was hidden. 4 cars, 3 owners, LOTS of variances between the them all.

The second part was to manage the wheels and tires throughout the race. We had over 100 tires.

I stayed in my "cave" at the ready.
