Default AiM MXL initial setup questions

Can I set up damping or lag factor on an input?

We are measuring VRef at only 4.5VDC. This is undocumented. Is VRef actually only 4.5V, or does this one have a problem with the reference supply?

I couldn't find any filtering on any of the inputs on my AiM MXL Pista. Ouch for a $2K unit.

I used RC filters as a solution.

I don't remember what Vref is on my unit, as I used an external Vref for my sensors.

If by Vref you mean system voltage while running and all you see is 4.5v, you've connected it to power incorrectly.

Can you sketch out what you've done?

On filtering, you do it in the analysis software, I believe.

We found an AiM vendor that states on their website that VRef is 4.5V on all AiM models. That is unfortunate.

We also found many users who are forced build external filtering circuits for each input. That is silly.

The dash also linearizes 3-point NTC sensor curves, so temp sensor readings are inaccurate. It also doesn't extrapolate past the last value. In fairness, it allows the user to enter more than 3 points, but generally speaking datasheets only show 3 point values.

Filtering in software post race is useless if the dash is untrustworthy during the race.

All this for $2000.
