I am about to buy an Android and will be getting this app for sure. I already have a 5 Hz bluetooth GPS. I wonder if the HTC Evo 4G will be able to run this app and record hi-res video at the same time...

spoolin2bars is using that program

ZX-Tex 05-25-2010 01:45 PM

Really? I'll have to ask John how he likes it.

Splitime 05-25-2010 01:59 PM

Someone get him to post up a review. I'm looking forward to trying it vs my MaxQdata setup.

jacob300zx 05-25-2010 02:01 PM

When it works it works really well. I think he had problems with it a MSRC

ZX-Tex 05-25-2010 02:06 PM

I paged John and pointed him to this thread.

Sorry to sound like a moron again, but are you guys talking about an ap for the new Verizon Droid? We are getting ready to start phone shopping once our crappy sprint contract is up. Worst carrier...... EVER

Yeah

chpmnsws6 05-25-2010 02:24 PM

Guess MT.net just gave Verizon 3 new customers!

ZX-Tex 05-25-2010 02:34 PM

I do not see why it would not run on the Verizon Droid, though I am getting the HTC Evo 4G for Sprint.

Splitime 05-25-2010 02:35 PM

I have it on a Droid. Worked for just giving me overall car speed. Haven't tested it in real use though.

shuiend 05-25-2010 02:47 PM

I have it on my droid. Have yet to actually try it out though.

Make the jump to VZN, I did after way too many years at sprint. You will not be sorry.

ZX-Tex 05-25-2010 03:30 PM

Though it is tempting, let's NOT jack this into a Verizon versus Sprint versus whoever thread.

Agreed. I'm just a spectator now :skid:

So...im having a problem with the app....It's illing my battery because it's constantly searching for GPS signal and I know my GPS works because my google maps works fine. Any ideas here guys?

spoolin2bars 05-25-2010 04:11 PM

i've posted about this in 3 diff. threads over the past 6mos.

basically, it works great. you can set your own split markers, and start/finish line. it uses google earth to pull up a view of the track and then shows your car going around the track with mph, altitude, split time, lap time, etc.. shows accel in green, braking in red, and coasting as a blue line. you can send a logged file to google earth and look at your lines, zoom-in and whatever. i like to glance at the screen when i'm on the track to see if i'm faster or slower than the previous lap. helps when trying new lines etc.
i don't pay attention to the time listed, only if the sector or lap time is green (faster) or red (slower). also, since my speedometer is broken, i can see what speeds i'm coming into or out of corners.

i did have a problem with gps interference at msr-c though. i don't know what was up over there, but there were huge power line towers right by the track. maybe that affected it.

for the money it's way worth it. i would contact trackmaster before you decide on a phone. a friend got an android phone and it didn't work with his.

also, the developer has always answered my questions or when i had issues, beyond fast. totally happy with the app. i really only bought my phone to run this app. it's like a budget traqmate.

Good idea. I am not sure how he would know since the phone I am getting is not out yet but I contacted him anyway. Maybe he has secret Android app developer powers and knowledge. I'll let you guys know if/when I try it out on the HTC Evo 4G. It looks like it is basically the same hardware as the Verizon Droid Incredible.

spd579 05-25-2010 04:49 PM

Yea, I've got the android and it's not working too hot so far :(
