any experence on using a 75/80-140 trans oil?

I was considering trying this. once the car gets hot on track the shifting seems to get firmer.

I have the big parts to run a trans cooler but I have not had time to lay out the lines or even install the trans temp gauge but this will happen this winter.

so what would be the drawback of running a 80-140 in our trans? it should be fine right? just offer better protection when really hot? ive not taken the time to really research this but would not mind avoiding the packaging of a cooler.
then again no one seems to run a heavy oil so why?

I need to order some 75-140 for my rear diff so thought I might try it in the trans. but I would rather not kill a trans on an experiment

If it shifts crappy when hot, presumably you aren't using Amsoil MTG.

You should use Amsoil MTG.

yes I am running the Amsoil based on the recommendations of this forum and in fact I'm a big shot dealer now because apparently Amsoil's marketing plan is to make buying the stuff as difficult as possible. I now run amsoil in the engine since I'm all out of the motul liquid gold and the amsoil is way cheaper once you reach the inner circle ;/

would using a 75/80-140 in the trans be a obvious bad idea? if so, can you tell me why this would be a bad idea? pretty sure I posted this before with limited results.

I'd ask this question on the oil forums.

You've got other issues if you're getting blocky shifting. Rover shifts the same, whether it's at the end of a 30 minute sprint race or a 4 hour enduro. Are you sure your clutch hydraulics are up to date?

Higher weight oils will drive temps up further.

Amsoil doesn't make a GL4 75/80-140w that I can see - what fluid are you considering?
