Brake duct hose question
Would 350f degree resistant neoprene brake ducting work or will it melt?
Here is the link Thermoid High-Temp Ducting - 350 Degree Neoprene Ducting Should I get 600f degree brake duct? It's a lot pricier but I only want to do this once. Thermoid High-Temp Ducting - 600 Degree Aircraft Silicone Ducting |
It will work. My IR sensor housing bolted to the brake duct shield would melt before 350*, but it's surviving.

You should expect to have to do it again. Brake duct hosing lives a hard life, it's flexing as the wheels turn, routed around lots of other stuff, etc. It doesn't last forever.
--Ian I have had the higher temp stuff on my dual purpose HPDE/DD for about a year and there are little holes from rubbing in random spots. Time to replace it. |
