Default OS Giken LSD - Any difference between US and JDM LSD?

Hi,

Anyone know if there is any difference between the US model OS Giken Super Lock – Part: MZ072-HA, and the Japanese D-MA202061404-S?

Track only, medium/low HP.

Cheers.

I think the Australian version rotates in the reverse direction.

Yes, I think you are correct...unless you have the special straight cut camshaft timing gear set to correct it.

Factory Torsen vs Os Giken? About .5s per lap on any track. Over 1s on some tracks. There is a reason every purpose built road race car that is allowed to run a high end clutch type, runs something like an OS Giken.

No, Japan OS Giken (part D-MA202061404-S) VS USA OS Giken (part MZ072-HA).

I am unsure if the Japanese OS Giken LSD just has a different code, or is actually a different LSD???

OS Giken is in the process of tweaking the design a tad with some new design concepts and I know and 949 has a special setup with a slightly different tune than what OS was originally selling.

You could call OS Giken here in the US to find out. I don't know myself. The tune we sell is it's own part number, different than the MZ072 every other US dealer gets. We're currently doing some testing for the gen 2 tune.

Just pinged the guys there, "Minor Preload and lock timing difference". One assumes it could be tuned to replicate the Spec-S or any other tune.

Cheers Emilio.

Ps. How far away is your updated 'tune'?

No ETA but I wouldn't fuss over it. Only a small evolution from our current SPM tune, which is in stock BTW.
