Shouldn't RCVD be in chassis setup and design?

Yeah I guess it's both. The book spends a lot of time of vector dynamics, etc. but then end result I suppose to to move toward an idealized chassis setup.

OP left out "Screw To Win" aka "Carroll Smith's Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners, and Plumbing Handbook"

Good material and newer than the original three (though still a bit dated)... very useful.

Read through the first few chapters of this book this weekend. It's excellent. I'm new to EFI, and the book does a great job of walking you through various components and how the computer uses them. Good call.

Both are dated but an excellent primer for understanding chassis setup & how to interpret data traces. Also, good luck finding Buddy's book. I had 3 copies and sold them for over $300 each(!) back in the day (buddy told me to).

All of these are great in my opinion but all are also engineering books.

Under Turbocharging you can add "Turbochargers" by Hugh MacInnes. Its pretty old, but full of good info, it has some things to offer that Maximum Boost does not.

and under EFI you can add "Engine Management Advanced Tuning" by Banish. Regardless of the name Id say its not that advanced. It certainly coveres more than some of the overly simplified tuning resources out there, but if you dont know whats in this book, you probably shouldnt be tuning.

I think that the Megasquirt megamanual would be a nice addition to that section, as would the pgmfi.org library (its a Honda specific page but has great advice on tuning theory for newbies)


Also, I think that some of the NACA archives would be a good addition to this thread as well. Ill have to look up a few of the good ones I remember. There was one on water injection (They called it 'internal cooling') that had data that showed me how backwards most peoples opinions are on the subject.

"Scientific Design of Exhaust & Intake Systems" by Philip H. Smith

"The Internal Combustion Engine in Theory and Practice Volumes 1&2" by Charles F. Taylor (referred to as "the bible" by powertrain engineers)

"Internal Combustion Engine Handbook" by Richard V. Basshuysen and Fred Schafer (My personal favorite, it is very up-to-date on current technology. We use this in our "advanced engine technology" course at CSU Fresno)
