Lightbulb Corbeau Clubman as daily driver seat???

Like the title says. Considering some clubmans for my daily driver. What I like about them is the measurements: should fit a miata perfectly ( as far as I can tell from posted numbers) and looks comfy.

Does anyone have any experience with them? How do they feel? I'm 5'9 32-34 waist. Would these not be a good fit for a daily driven miata? I PM'd Urbansoot since he just had some ( too bad I missed his FS thread) but also trying to get others' input on these.

LMK
Thanks

I saw that name come up when googling, didn't know they were very very similar. So which one is a knockoff of which one?

The cobra version looks really good too. How much are they and where did you get yours? Google doesn't seem to show too many places selling it.

Also are you daily driving your car, and how easy are they to get in/out of and just generally how comfortable are they with daily use?

*EDIT: oh wow they're way pricier than corbeau. Guess I know now which one is the knockoff

They were somewhere in the neighborhood of 800. I used them as DD seats until putting the C5 sport seats in.

With the 6 point bar, the biggest issue is getting my big *** over that thing, not the seats.

No, but I'll throw them in once the car is back together for a picture or two. 94-97 dash conversion.

*edit* I take pictures of them in the car when Curly's camera arrives so you don't have to look at mickey mouse pictures.

Shweet. Thanks. These are some of the very few seats that I managed to dig up while searching that didn't have humongous wings up top that rub on the hard top latches/seat belt towers/doors. They also seem to be the least "bucket-y" and therefore probably easier to get in/out of. Since the car is a daily, I want more support then the crap stockers offer, yet don't want some crazy ultra-race seat that requires harnesses and is impossible to get in/out of. I want the PERFECT BALANCE. Hope that's not too much to ask for

The ones with harness holes are the shiz, but so hard to find! Will the Clubmans work OK with stock belts? I'm looking for a compromise DD/HPDE setup, too. If I could get under my roll bar without modifying the car, I have no problem with swapping seats for events, but I think that's unlikely. Too bad someone doesn't make a good copy of the Elise seat that is somewhat affordable.

I had one in my miata. Despite it's dimensions, it's still not an easy fit in a miata. I had to bang the trans tunnel out to get the right front of the seat to fit. Also, despite the smaller shoulder "wings" it still rubbed on the door card. Not super bad, but it was an interference fit.

I had mine bolted to the floor (stock cross bars cut out) because I wanted it as low as possible, and at 6'2" I wasn't going to pass the broomstick test with a helmet on if I had it mounted on sliders or brackets.

I don't think the seat was comfortable enough for daily driving. My a$$ would start to get numb after about 30 mins in the seat. Was okay for weekend warrior / track toy, but I don't think I'd want one in a daily.

I've only briefly sat in Elise / Exige seats but it seems those might better meet your requirements.

Really? Wow. That's interesting. Per the dimentions posted for them, I don't think any of the other seats (bride, recaro, etc) are any narrower on the top OR the bottom. I have a set of recaro knockoffs right now, and they measure something like 21" down low and like 21.5" at the upper "wings". they seem to fit ok, not rubbing on anything.

Is your car an NA or NB?

Guess I should have specified that too: Mine is a 2001 NB

I'd LOVE elise seats, but from what I see they are very hard to find and very expensive (over 800 for sure).

That seat is ------- awful. Elise seats are okay, Sparco Roadsters are okay, but I wouldn't put anything else in a daily because the bolsters and flopping-in the car gets old as ----.

Whats awful about it? The getting in/out? The comfort level? Just looked up the sparco roadster you mentioned, and it looks like it has the stupid "wings" too, which is gay for a daily. Also its like $630 a pop. eff that.

I'm trying to stay under 5-600 for both seats. Is there really nothing decent out there besides ultra baller 800-1000 seats???

I havent found an aftermarket seat that doesn't strangle you when using the stock seatbelts.

I guess I didn't consider that either.

Regardless, I would want in a DD

my buddy has these exact seats in his 4th gen maro.

they're OK but I swear I was more comfortable in his Kirkeys. it's really your decision but I find Sparco EVO 2s to be pretty comfy as are most of Racetech's offerings.

for reference:

we drove about 100 miles each way to PBIR.

The bolsters are too high so you have to "plop" into the seat. That's also a sling-seat so you get your butt-cheeks pushed together, all the time.

I paid $750 for my seats, but would not daily them.
