Dual spring delete on Xidas Clubsports
Any of you running Xidas Club Sports without the dual springs? Any regrets?

You want the dual springs.

I've heard Emilio say "they do everything better". I wish he gave specific examples. :(

Basically, the helper spring makes sure you use all the droop travel of the shock. In the rear this helps you keep the inside rear down and apply power better coming out of the corner. In the front its not as big of a deal as long as you have proper roll stiffness except in certain situations. They're worth the extra money, but only if you use them right. If you have a shock at the ride height you want but the helper is fully compressed at full droop you need to add the spacer bits on the top of the shock shaft, I believe that should be in the instructions that no one reads.

You want the dual springs in most situations. If you opt out at purchase time you can't add them later because main spring lengths are shorter with the helpers.

You can add them later. Springs are cheap. You just will need to buy the different length springs.
I currently have no duals. I still LOVE the suspension but I will add the duals eventually to gain all the benefits listed above. While everyone on here pretends to be all out ballers it is still acceptable not to have the best of the best. Buy what you can afford and upgrade later. The xida is a great suspension in any form. |
My only real regret with the xidas is that I didnt buy doubles the first time. And my second is that I didnt get them with the solid upper mounts. I didnt realize how janky the adapters for the NB mounts actually were. But Club sports are still a grand cheaper than any other coil over setup with AST 5100 dampers.

But... you can go, like an inch and a half lower if you take the helper springs out... That's what we do here, right?

Nice to see a little scientific testing is associated with your opinions! |
Thanks for that video, it worth more than any explanation I've ever read regarding the helpers!

Tires lock up under braking at times ;) it's the RF tire which is typically the most common lockup point

Its amazing how much flex the sway bar mount has even with blocks. |
I didn't notice much flex, looked more like shadows to me.
