Long story, but I've just picked up the racecar from the shop (thank you AR racing), the car is tuned and ready except I need to change out the brakes. The rear sliders are siezed, which will put me into raceday morning before I can get new calipers and swap out pads. My qualifying is first amd no time to bed brakes. If I remember right, was it carbotech's that didn't need to be bedded-in? Ive got a set of 12/8's. I hope to throw on new calipers/rotors and go straight to qualifying on Saturday morning.

Cobalts don't require bedding. If I recall correctly, we have a set of sport rears on the shelf, should of asked while you were here!!

Definitely should be bedded, even if the box is stamped "pre-bedded." You might be ok to go straight out for qualifying if they are pre-bedded pads, but someone with direct experience needs to confirm that. All I know for sure is that I've tried bedding non-pre-bedded carbotechs on track before, and the results were not good.

I almost crashed with STOCK replacement carbotechs because I didn't bed them properly. I had extremely unsafe stopping distances, and then a few days of driving went by, and miraculously i had stopping power.

I've switched to PFCs. No bedding, smoother braking, less expensive even. FWIW.

Same here. I tried one set of Carbotechs. After driving a Chump Car prepped Miata with PFC's that were brand new (no bedding), it would take a lot for me to go back.
