How does a spec miata run TTE?

tires 7
coil stuff 5
sway bar 2
exhaust 3
lsd 3
6+point cage in most(unknown points)
intake (unknown points)

Maybe a dyno reclass?

Only reason I ask.

hornetball 06-07-2015 06:40 PM

The cage is free (safety).

Also, you get some points back for 205/50R15 (the 0 point width is 235).

This is all for NASA 2015. The rules do change slightly every year.

Arca_ex 06-07-2015 06:51 PM

You forgot all the points you get back for tire size. If base class E. And some are base class F with stars. Or can be on a dyno reclass.

EricJ 06-07-2015 08:15 PM

On a 1.8 Dyno Reclass

Between the head work, AFR (Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator) and exhaust, not enough points left for the shocks, springs, sway bars, diff, front air dam and tires to stay in E.

blkmkiii 06-08-2015 12:16 PM

Yea that was what I was wondering.

HoustonNW 06-08-2015 01:12 PM

They used to have a blanket classification for Spec Miata cars but it looks like they replaced that with Appendix C—Pre-Approved Dyno Re-classing in the 2015 TT Rules.

Those look like Spec Miata RWHP numbers and weights I think.

I don't think it's specifically from a spec miata. The 94-97 reclass is actually my email reclass that I had gotten before the rules came out, he must have thrown it in for Appendix C.

Seefo 06-09-2015 09:18 AM

I don't understand how you can say you are a PTE driver and say an intake is unknown points.

FatKao 06-09-2015 11:12 AM

A SM would get killed in PTE, is it even worth showing up to run TTE in one?

Savington 06-09-2015 02:35 PM

To answer the original question:

How does a spec miata run TTE?
Poorly

Depends on what region you're in.

Doesn't matter if you win by an inch or default, winning is winning.

Or they cheat on their points.

In the Texas region, the quickest race lap for SM is usually faster than the winning TTE laps, usually by a couple of seconds.

A small amount of the difference maybe drafting, but most of the difference is driver skill.
