Default Huevo - ND2 TT build for MTTC

Introducing Huevo

Just picked up this clean 2021 RF GT that we plan to set up for MTTC Mod class.
https://miatattchampionship.com/
https://www.instagram.com/miatattc/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/miatattchampFacebook group is miatattchamp

Classes are Street, SuperStreet, Mod, SuperMod and Unlimited. Plan so far:

Suspension bits
Xida singles 12/6kg
Prototype SPM sway bars 26/14mm
SPL Sphericals
Prototype 12.88x1.1 Superlite BBK
G-Loc R18/R12
Prototype 2pc lightweight rear rotor kit
SPM brake lines
Castrol SRF
18x9 +45 forged 6ULR on 225/35/18 A052
or
17x9 6ULR on 245/40 RE71RS
SPM Offset Knuckle Bushings (camber)
SPM end links

Drivetrain
OS Giken
3.45 A/T diff housing
OEM clutch/flywheel

Aero
Verus wing
Verus under panels
Verus suspension covers
Verus hood vents
Verus diffuser
Verus splitter
Ebay lip spoiler on top of splitter
Color PPF in Racing Orange from RGBG, installed by Aerowerkz

Power
BBR cams and valve springs
Weldman LT header
GWR midpipe and street muffler
Fab9 tune on E85 (no flex fuel)

Interior
Sparct Evo QRT seats
PCI fixed brackets
Racequip 6pt FIA harnesses
330mm Guardian wheel
Element fire stick
Simpson Hybrid-S for driver
Custom roll bar

The unknown territory is deleting the RF motor and linkage. I'd like to figure out a way to bolt/clamp the roof panels on from the inside. Get rid of the windblocker and small rear window. The add a flat sheet of polycarbonate window between the
buttresses to create a sorta fastback. Idea is to get rid of all the hardware behind the seats for a real roll bar. Don't know if its possible but we'll update here as we go.

The 19-21 transmissions have proven fairly robust, but not indestructible. My sacrifice to the gods is keeping the stock ND2 dual mass flywheel. If the box still blows up, we'll spring for a Walters stage 3 box and a light flywheel with ND1 sprung clutch.
Frustrating that no one has flexfuel working yet. A dude on mnet has a clean gauge solution that we'll copy. So at least we can monitor and manually change maps. Most SoCal tracks now have E85 pretty close to the track so we can drive to event without fuel jugs in the trunk if need be.

Pretty stoked on the project and we're all really eager to drive it.

Looks like a nice car, subb'd for the build!

But most importantly.. when will it become orange?

Eventually. Gotta get the suspension and other bits sorted. Business has been good so we're all full gas on keeping the toys flowing out the door and developing new ones.
Sorta why we won't debut the car completely done but instead flesh it out over the entire season. But yah, Moarange!

Sub'd for the build as well. Really annoying that nobody has good Flex solutions for the NC/ND yet, although it seems the ND benefits quite a bit more from e85 compared to the NC (just N/A of course).

Planning on seeing you guys for the first round at WSIR next month. Side note: thanks for bringing the MTTC back! Looks like there's gonna be a killer turnout based on the feedback so far.

Subbed as well.

I wish I was a little closer to the venues... Chuckwalla is the closest for us at a little over 500 miles one-way.

Rolling the car into the shop to start bolting stuff to it tomorrow. The guys are all excited to get their hands on it and get behind the wheel. Lots to do before the first event.
We're going to do the first event or two on Tecna Sport to collect some more data on sway bars. Xidas will go on later. Decided not to put our standard OMP HTE-R400 seats in and run Sparco Evo QRT's instead. No halo but still quite safe considering we all run a Hybrid-S HNRS and 6pts. Ditching the halo makes I/O much easier and improves visibility on the street. ND track junkies fb group has a ton of info on seat options and a FAQ you can download.
First wheels will be 17x9 6UL on 245/40 RE71RS. Later when we have the forged 18x9 6ULR's, we'll switch to the 225/35 A052's.

What is the logic on the 18's? They are lower overall diameter than the 245/40/17's? Or they will be to help out with some rule?

I asked you guys to make me some forged 18" 6ULs a while back and you said no. Now you are making them for your own car...

- Smaller ID will clear fender liners better
- A bit more sidewall tension will likely generate just as much grip as 245 despite being narrower. 245/40/17's would all be faster on a 9.5" wheel
- 225/35/18 A052 is only .3" narrower tread than 245/40/17 A052
- Frees up a few pts in MTTC rules
- Making wheels for product validation. Didn't offer to make yours because you were the only one that asked for 4x100 18" which we could not recoup engineering expense from. We were looking for requests that would translate to production wheels. I would not take that personally. If it makes you feel any better, we have not made forged wheels for anybody yet.

Our 18" wheels will be validation protos and may not actually fit well or be faster. Happy to make an extra set for you but no guarantees you will like the fitment.

First things first, weigh it on a full tank. 10x6lbs so ~60lbs of gas. That means 2370lbs or so empty. Not bad. We should end up pretty close to that when we're done. We'll drop weight with some mods, add weight with others. I'm hoping the better aero of the RF will make up for a slight weight penalty over the ST.
Running a can of seafoam through the intake before changing to 5W40. The thicker oil will cost us a few hp but protect the engine a bit better at high temps. Tecnas going on for now so we can collect some data, then swapping over to Xida with Race springs.
A/T 3.45 diff getting the OS Giken installed this week so that'll get installed soon. We'll probably have to do some ECU tuning to keep all the algorithms happy with the lower gearing.

Ecutek. Probably a fab9 canned tune which we'll adjust with datalogs. Been chatting with Bryan a bit. If I'm able to come up with a parts list and outline ito install an ethanol sensor and gauge in the car, I'll share it here.

Psyched to see what you guys do aero wise with the hardtop motor/mechinism delete and plexiglass to make a fastback. ND is such a great platform out of the box so I'm sure this things gonna RIP!

Speaking of, and unrelated to this (sorry for the thread drift) - have you been able to successfully add an ethanol sensor to the NC with something like Versatune? Bryan is probably the guy to ask, but figured I'd throw it out there since it's being discussed..

We're using the Xero limit kit which is based on a zeitronix sensor and ecutek on the NC. It works. OK to ask NC questions in the Kaiko build thread.

Color picked. We were inspired by Toyota Solar Octane 4W5.

We're partnering with a new company called RGBG that offers color PPF, as opposed to a traditional vinyl. The downside is its harder to install and costs a bit more. The upside is its far more durable than traditional vinyl wraps, lasts longer, doesn't mess up the OEM paint and will accept die cut vinyl graphics on top without getting stuck on.

While the didn't have an exact match for the Toyota color, they had something we think is even sharper: Gloss Metallic Racing Orange. It's a metallic where Solar Octane is a non-metallic. Gonna be hot!

Now we're talkin' That color looks BRIGHT and I love it, perfect choice 👌. I'm gonna have to look up these ppf wraps.. I've never heard of that.

I really wish that A: 4-runners weren't so expensive, B: they weren't so slow, and C: they didn't have such a soccer mom vibe. /thread drift.

I've installed a lot of ethanol sensors, you might look to the BMW world for fitting options. I particularly like the the setup from Precision raceworks, which gives you 2 180 degree SAE fittings of all the right sizes. The fuel line basically does a 360* loop, but the end result is you've added a ethanol sensor without adding ~8" of length to your fuel line. It just moves it over, maybe an inch. Works with any 5/16 sae fuel rail, which is pretty much all Miatas, BMWs, and more from ~'01 up.

PL Motorsports on YT has his sensor on top of the fuel stack. Crowded. Adrian Wee on mnet has it zip tied to the shock tower brace. I like the idea of keeping on the engine.
I like your inline solution. We'll do that. Sano.

Tacomaverse is crazy. An ancient, bombproof but archaic design that gets insane ADM. How much is Toyota making on those damn things? Like Ford being kept afloat with F150 revenues for years.

That the TRD PRO T4Rs and Tacos don't come with the 5.7 should be ******* criminal, especially at their price point.

I'm really interested to see if you can demotor and fastback glass the hardtop. That will end up looking really neat. You might be able to incorporate the hardtop mounts into the cage. Has anyone built a serious head for one of these yet aka CNC porting etc?
