I did a few 1:34.6 at WSIR, good weather, no aero, Tecna Sport 8/4kg, guessing around 170whp. I had not been on track in over a year so I was a bit rusty when the track was fastest early on. Swapped tires, changed fsb setting, tweaked pressures later. Car got better, I drove better but track got slower with heat and wind. Me and Sonny were sure it had a 1:33 in it during the faster early sessions.

So abt 2320 lbs empty. 180lbs weights for driver, 60lbs full tank. Lost more weight with exhaust, seats, interior trim and light battery than we gained with BBK, aero. Nice.

It will be very interesting to see how much weight you pull out when you gut the top motors and all that stuff.

I'm hoping it will offset the weight of the roll bar. But even if it doesn't we'll end up with better aerodynamics and a proper full-size roll bar under there.

Quite impressive with no aero!

De-clagged. The color PPF is much slicker than traditional vinyl. Cleans easily. Actually difficult to get the decals to stick.

Car is such a blast to drive. Round 2@ Buttonwillow Sunday. Then a quick two weeks to Round 3 @ Chuckwalla.

Still to do:
Swiatek cams, valve springs
E85 maps
SPL sphericals in FLCA & rear uprights
Custom roll bar
Roof mech delete
Brake cooling deflectors

Verus underbody panels and diffuser. The splitter is something we made using 11mm Alumacorr laminate.

What benefit will all those provide? I looked it up and it seems SPL replaces 4 bushings in the rear uprights, but aren't there 6 total? Why aren't the last 2 replaced?

I guess we'll find out. The intent was to replace some of the other locations with urethane. But I have to look at the kinematics in more detail before deciding which ones.

Looks damn good! 949 car number is so obvious but perfect haha.

Frankie and I were talking last night about how scared we were for when this car gets cams+e85 lol.

Had a low 1:59 in it Sunday. We're still sorting the set up, no testing beforehand. We swapped to a different front pad, adjusted sway bars and swapped 235 RT660+ for 245 RE71RS.. but didn't go back out for 4th session. It cleared up, wind died down and track was dry. Doh.
But yeah, it's got another 2~3s in it once sorted. Stiffer springs going in, more camber (based on pyro readings). We'll find some more speed even without the cams and corn.

It's a blast to drive. So benign, stable and easy to drive at the limit. Gearing perfect, grip for days. My new favorite HPDE build and we have built many over the last two decades.

Now I know what I'm going to do after I get bored of my ND2 in SCCA STR/AST.
I'm curious what camber you end up at. The alignment guy looked at me funny when I told him 4 degrees in the front.

We're bumping from -3° front and -2.5° rear to -4° and -3° for Chuckwalla this weekend.

We had a few folks on fb ask us about the splitter attachment. I presume it appears fancier than it is. We didn't document because frankly, it's not worth documenting. Many (most) on this forum use far nicer methods and materials. We use simple Home Depot Motorsports wire and crimps with some cheap turnbuckles. A piece of flat aluminum bent in a vice and shaped with a jigsaw for the lower mount. Basic L bracket. Cut a slot in the alumacorr, slide tab of L through the slot. Bolt through sheet and a hole drilled in tab for turnbuckle. Other end of wire is also loop and hung onto a bolt wherever we can find a straight line through the grill. The straps loop through two parallel slots cut into the alumacorr and back up to another bolt where we can find one. HDM pipe hanger strap. Better materials available from McMaster.

It's my belief that a splitter should support downward pressure but be free to move upward a bit in case you go off roading. This is contrary to many builds where a very solid structure is employed to attach the splitter. I base my opinion on a perhaps a thousand hours of HPDE/W2W/ Enduro and time attack experience over 30 years.

I love learning from the experience of others... learning from my own mistakes is expensive and slow. So please pardon my request for clarification on your too-simple-to-document setup... I'd like to know eggsactly what you're doing.

I can't parse this. Looking at the underside shots above, I see four attachment points for your splitter. I see the two L brackets that you describe, hung through the radiator opening via wire and turnbuckles. I also see two hangers in the middle and two bolts at the rear. I assume you're describing the middle attachment points? Are these "straps" merely Home Despot aluminum flat bar, bent in what appears to be a U at the bottom (no bolt) and hung from a random bolt on the chassis?

Thanks in advance for the clarification.
