Default Introducing: Keen on Racing

So, I've decided to move car racing towards a more business oriented approach. That means that I plan on building out the car (reliability) and my skills and use that to entertain our customers, suppliers, friends, participate in charity - meanwhile broadly advertising our company.

I run a managed services/hosting company from Enschede, The Netherlands. We are highly service oriented and highly automated. That means our core is only 4 ppl, half of which is tech. Yet we serve near 700 customers, amongst them BP/Castrol.

Current plans include the option to run in MaX5, the local Spec Miata equivalent (90-93 1.6).

I'm posting this in the 1337 section as none of this is really public yet, we will post on our company blog shortly. Looking for feedback, input, pitfalls, experiences, etc from others around here.

Kick-off today, the shop:

Specs:
- 500m from our office
- 14ft x 46ft (644 sq.ft.)

So, quick results are in: cold leakdown - 5-8% in #2, #3 and #4. Around 20% in #1. Going to run the engine for a while as it's been sitting for long. Then do another hot test and see if we want to do head only or short block too.

Thanks, this thread is now complete!

Good luck on your endeavour. That garage is pretty damn awesome. Is that like a rental space? Never seen anything like that around my area. I would like something about that size to work on cars.

became a fan.

644 square feet seems small. Is real estate really high there?

Real estate is very high in the Netherlands, that's a nice sized shop for a new operation to begin in.
