As it turns out, you were correct. After an off at Hallett the gauge started acting wonky pretty much all the time, very rarely was it reading correctly. I have two gauges mounted in the A pillar, both grounds T into a quick connect and a single wire runs to under the dash where it meets the (other gauge's) boost sensor and LC-1 heater ground. These all share an 18g wire to the IM ground bolt. LC-1 heater now has a dedicated wire and a second was run for the gauges and boost sensor. Both wires are soldered and crimped to a single ring connector.

Either the LC-1 heater ground was causing havoc or there was a bad solder joint under the dash. Either way it's working much better now.

Heater ground carries a lot of current. It can definitely cause a voltage bias if it doesn't have its own path to the block.

I want to add a water pressure warning light instead of a gauge. I've looked up a few options and need some opinions on what would be best. I guess the first question is what PSI would be best for low threshold for a warning light.

Longacre sells a warning light kit... It comes on at 3 psi. I'm thinking that 3psi is pretty low for a warning light.

I'm really thinking a water pressure warning light is the answer for me. I don't want to get into the trap of staring at gauges on the track and I just need something simple that says... shutterdown!

Thoughts?

What does your water pressure gauge read now? And where do you want it? And what are you looking for? Water pump fail or open system fail?

I do not have a water pressure gauge which is why i'd like to add a warning light. I'm going to be upgrading my coolant system with a re-route and a supermiata cross flow radiator. My concern with a cooling system like this is that it will mask a leak and it will cause a raise in temps that hits so hard I won't be able to slow it down in time.

The impetus of the warning light vs a gauge is that I can monitor the situation without having another gauge to look at. I'd like to mount this near my line of site down the track.

For the leak case any where in the upper rad hose or post thermostat works. Only need a couple PSI, too close to your rad cap pressure and it'll just be on all the time.

Finished installing my Spa gauge. Boost and oil Temperature. Beware that the Spa Pressure sensor is 1/8 BSP.

The red button comes with the spa unit and lets you choose the different values for the color/sound alarms. Also lets you check the maximum temperatures (or boost) reached. Great quality ;)

We're laughing because those very gauges were the subject of a very large chunk of this thread, and what the OP ended up buying and reviewing in this very thread.

Everything about those was hashed out before you showed up. ;)

The funny part was "Cool new gauges by Longacre," months after the thread ran its course.

I try to read everything i really do. but sometimes, some posts, really hurt my head. I bash it against my keyboard to try and erase my memory. My point is I do try to read everything, but i can't get there sometimes.

Will three of these Accutechs fit in a 1DIN panel? I just now realized that these aren't 52mm.

Won't fit, sorry.

Even 3 x 52mm gauges is a tiiiight squeeze, with some not fitting depending on bezel dimensions.

We've added the Accutech SMI gauges to our catalog now as I've had nothing but great experiences with them.
My preferred mounting method are these Autometer gauge cups.
