This is a interesting new items from joes.

I don't know if it has any Miata Applications but we steal parts and other things from circle track guys all the time.

There can be huge advantages to using a spring Pre-Loader on your race car. It is most commonly used on the right rear and allows you to run a soft spring but pre-load it so it has a high static load. You will get the benefits of running a heavy spring to get you into and through the center of the corner but also have the benefit of a lighter spring for more traction coming off the corner. clif notes: it allows you to run a softer spring and it will behave like a higher rate spring everywhere, but corner exit. give you more grip to power on.

I doubt it has any miata applications unless someone you know is willingly using 10" long, 3" diameter springs.

What new capability does this bring? Adjustable perches already allow for variable spring preload. It's always possible to use a spring compressor to assemble coilovers to get arbitrarily large preload within the structural capabilities of the threaded body and perch (whether or not it's a good idea).

This seems like a solution to a problem that exists due to rules in a certain governing body.

Someone bitch me out if I'm wrong. But isn't the point of linear springs to have the same spring rate all the way through the compression? So doesnt matter how much preload it has, it will still be the same spring rate?

I feel like they add preload when we just move our collars up or down.
