Manifold to turbo gasket

I have a 95, with a built 1.8, Kraken low mount manifold, EFR 6758, and inconel studs with stage 8 locking hardware. I'm at Sonoma, running low boost, 10-12psi and I blew out my manifold to turbo gasket.

Is there anything else I am missing to prevent this from happening? Is there a specific brand of gasket should buy?

Thanks in advance.

Sand both flanges flat.
Good and flat.
Smear with grease.
Cinch hardware.
Done.

Thank you.
Would machining be overkill?

If you have a mill and the skill, not entirely.
A tabletop belt sander or a file and patience works fine.

Just for clarification, after making sure both surfaces are flat, I should use a thin layer of grease instead of a gasket?
If so, will any kind of grease work or will I need something specific like copper or high temp synthetic?
