Mazda ALMS P1 Tech

Good article covering the some of the technology involved in an ALMS car.

Sneak Peak- The Dyson Mazda ALMS P1Prototype

I found some of the information on Aero to be enlightening. Wouldn't mind having one of those Garrett TR30R turbos either.

Nice, I know that people were talking about this in the 'splitter height' thread:

This can be pretty nasty if it happens in the middle of a high speed turn. The kick up is so that some underbody airflow will always be maintained no matter how much the car pitches or if the pavement has undulations. The car also has a formula car like high nose. The high nose gives more room for a bigger splitter and also gives more stagnation area over the splitter for more front downforce.

great read! I'd always wondered why I saw more cars with the swan neck mounting for the wing. 10% improvement is pretty awesome. only tuner car I've seen it with is the evasive brz.

If only a splitter kick up were easier to make using birch.

Well I just spent the last hour reading about the Garrett TR30R.

Did anyone else notice the BMW bypassing thermostat? Where is Joe when you need him. If it good enough for a ALMS car its good enough for us. LOL

Searching around to see if it's ever used in tractors and you can justify buying one?:giggle:
