Isn't that what this forum is supposed to be for? The Miata track scene has so many different forums and Facebook pages. As a relative newbie to Miatas it makes it really difficult to find decent information compared to other track/race cars. I prefer forums because I think it's easier to search for old data compared to Facebook, but that's just my personal preference. Not dissing your Facebook page, I browse it sometimes, I just wish good track Miata information and discussions were a lot more centralized, it's a mess compared to other makes and models. Other than Facebook's platform, why do you prefer it over just talking cars here?

Unfortunately there is an entirely new generation of car enthusiasts that have come into the scene not utilizing forums but instead only use Facebook. I, too, agree that forums provide a greater knowledge base of organized information. However, the "foot-traffic" on Facebook is far greater than on forums now-a-days and while I still frequent this forum even though I don't have a turbo'd Miata, Facebook is where a lot of information can be learned through a variety of different groups and pages.

The various Facebook pages I'm on generally have more informative (and relevant to racing/tracking specifically) posts/discussions in a day than even the best Miata race/track focused forum (this one) has in a week.

Keep in mind that this might be due to the fact that people post the same question/thing over and over again, not bothering with searching (not that FB is great in finding older posts, or keep info organised in threads).

Facebook added post topics a while back. We curate every post and drop them into topics so they can be found a bit easier. Facebook is an entirely different animal so I won't go into all the myriad reasons why it can be more useful than a forum, blog or YouTube channel.

As mentioned in the OP this group is curated content. There is no other section or threads. Since it is a linear content format and not branched like a forum, everybody sees the latest discussion. Its primary purpose is for a person to be able to ask a question and get responses from people that have direct personal experience with the issue. I filter out any trolls, spammers and whatnot. This forum has the best signal to noise ratio of any Miata forum. Our little Facebook group has an even higher signal-to-noise ratio. That is by design.

The best part is that you do not allow "Picture For Attention" !!! This PFA with every freaking Facebook post in other groups is annoying. I also prefer the forum for finding information, but there seems to be a lot less forum traffic than a few years ago, even on this forum. Also, on the forum I can see post counts and join dates so I can add a little value to an experienced opinion vs. a non miata oil changing dude trying to tell us that Rotella should not be used in a Miata because it is diesel oil!

"pic for attention" is the unquestionable worst part of social media. And they're almost never related to the content of their post!

That was rule number one. I delete more PFA posts than anything else.
